at this time, Dolby Atmos is so cutting edge that basically nothing is in DA. So if you buy the speakers to add the capability (essentially adding sound above you by adding upward firing front speakers or mounting speakers on your ceiling), the receiver may be left to add the effect as a kind of simulation, since most movies or streaming shows aren't going to be recorded in Atmos. I'd say, don't rush out to buy stuff just to add that feature. You should wait until there is ample content to enjoy it on. And by then (years from now?) better, cheaper receivers with better Atmos processing may be available. Or it may turn out to be a fad. Honestly, I've NEVER heard or seen an Atmos setup, so I can't pretend to be an authority. This is just from what I have read.
