The hoses came as part of the washer installation from Best Buy. I was a little leery that this was "gold plating" the installation (I had rubber hoses on the old washer that lasted 12 years) until I saw how the new front load washing machine's fill valves worked. The fast action of the valves causes the hoses to jump when they close. I do not think a rubber hose would last as long with this situation. I am glad that they were part of the washing machine package.

The vent kit came as part of the dryer installation service from best buy. The area where the dryer was being installed had to be very tight against the wall -- approximately 5" so that a door could clear it. The no radius elbows worked perfectly. The dryer sensed no obstructions.
Save time and money by installing your dishwasher yourself with this complete, high-quality kit. This kit is required if you have your dishwasher professionally installed.

The package came with the dishwasher. It's added to the dishwasher package because Best Buy did the installation. Because my dishwasher was hard wired, the installer did not need to use the plug. The installer, though, did say that this hose was much better than the copper tubing that is replaced.

We needed to replace our washer and dryer and after much research (CR, store reviews) found that this washer had good reliability and the features we wanted.
Originally, because we had an old Kenmore top loader, we thought that we would get a HE top loader. After reading many things about the roughness on clothes and that the wife would need a stool to get to the bottom for the top loaders, we settled on this front loader. Glad we made the decision. Even the kids can get the clothes out of the washer.
The washer is very easy to use. Just set the dial to the type of clothes you are washing, add detergent to the dispenser and press start. The machine does the rest. Clothes come out clean in a reasonable amount of time (longer if you use the pre-wash function). You still need to pretreat tough stains (grass, food, etc.).
A couple of comments on this type of washer: 1. The fill valves on this machine are fast acting and will "thunk" when opening and closing -- sometime in quick succession between the hot and cold water to mix to the correct temperature. The noise did not carry through the house, but was noticeable enough. I installed water hammer arresters at each of the connections. These take up the water hammer force that would travel through the piping. You can pick them up at the home improvement store. 2. We were originally concerned that the washer would vibrate and shake more than a top loader. This did not happen and found that the spin cycle is not only quieter than our old machine, but smoother also.

Needed a new washer and dryer and after doing a lot of research (CR, store reviews) on features and reliability, settled on LG. We did not need all of the features that the more expensive dryers had (steam, etc.). Just one that dried clothes completely and quickly.
This dryer does just that. Just set the dryer to the setting that you washed your clothes to and go. The clothes generally dried in 30-45 minutes. Every once and a while you may have to add some time due to a waistband being damp. Other than that works great. Other than that you cannot use dryer sheets (LG specifically says this in the manual verbiage), this machine is great bang for the buck.

Our old contractor grade GE dishwasher was showing its age and needed to be replaced. It cleaned the dishes OK, but was loud in doing it. After looking at CR for the best dishwashers we settled on this one. It was on sale with free installation -- could not pass it up.
As with the other reviews, the dishwasher initially was a little awkward to load, but after testing a few different configurations found one that works. Some of the other reviewers found that the dishwasher seemed to be smaller, but I was able to fit a large crockpot in it with all of the other dishes.
As for the best settings, make sure your water is hot before starting. The second you press the start button, the water valve opens. Also use the sanitize setting for any wash setting. My glasses and plates literally come out squeaky clean. I only use powdered soap and fill the soap dispenser to the first line for auto wash (I filled it up with the crock pot that cooked chilly). Finally, use a rinse aid.
This thing is quiet. The only noise I here is the water spraying inside.
