Each game is usually a maximum of 40 GB, so depending on what you wish to achieve, you need to choose the device that will do that job that fits that need. I installed a 2,000 GB (2 terabytes, 4 times larger than the original installed drive) hard drive into my son's ps4, so he does not have to erase games, to install new ones. I believe that Sony now allows, as of the beginning of the summer, up to a 8 TB external drive to be installed into the front USB port. So, you could buy an external 1 TB hard drive from Best Buy for as low as $56.99, or a 4 TB external drive for $107.99, and you won't have to modify your machine. Make sure your PlayStation software is always up to date. Check YouTube.com for more information. I hope this helps.
