No problems

This does the job advertised at a good price. I've only had the drive for a month, so I can't attest to its long term durability, but I've taken it around the united states where it has been bounced around in my bag and been dropped a couple times from a couple feet off the ground to carpet. Still works fine. I was concerned that it wouldn't do HD video well, because most portable drives like this run at 5600rpms and most video editors require 7200rpms to get good video. Also a lot of portable drives use green drives that spin down when you aren't pressing play, so you might get a delay when you press play before it gets up to speed. I don't know the specs on this drive, but I didn't experience any problems using this drive to edit HD video on AVID editing software on a laptop. So... no problems so far.

It's funny, it's touching. It's a little scary at times... Not REALLY scary, but enough to make the story work. It's a good film.

The angled shape sits snugly in the ear and the sound quality is rather good.

These headphones are louder than most, but sound like the sound quality is far from neutral. The high frequencies are a lt louder than the mids.

The Rainmaker is a great film

The Rainmaker is a great film with very touching character development. It's worth the price of the set, I'd say. The other films are a bit of forced suspense and forced character development, but honestly aren't that bad all in all. They're fun if you are a sucker for courtroom intrigue.

Election is a great film, that you should really check out. It alone is worth the price of the set. The other films are pretty good too.

In many ways, the first one was better this sequel, but when it comes to bubblegum action, this film is top notch. I would also recommend Aliens for a similar experience.

It works

I used to have a NetGear wifi extender WN3000RP that picked up the incoming wifi signal through the air and rebroadcast it. It was ok, but didn't do a really good job going through brick walls or broadcasting super far (and its ability to receive signals died over time - lasted about 2 years). This works better for my purposes.
This is a 2 part device that broadcasts your signal over the electric wires, so wherever you have electricity, you can plug in a receiver and have a wifi spot there. So instead of trying to broadcast across my backyard and through the brick walls of my garage, I can have a wifi spot inside the garage for perfect signals. I was a little scared that once i started using power tools on the same electric lines that the signal was using that it would cause problems, but so far, not at all. Even welding I didn't notice anything (but then maybe Netflix and Pandora buffer, so if there was an issue while using power tools, it would be so brie that I just wouldn't notice) I have only had the product for a month, so I don't now how durable it is.
The instructions are pretty bad and unfortunately, i put it together a month ago, so can't remember it well enough to write a better one here. But you should know that the piece that sends the signal into the power lines has to be wired to your router by a LAN cable. It cannot receive wifi. So make sure your router has an open port. The receiver/wifi broadcaster at the other end broadcasts wifi and has an open LAN port. The instructions and labelling are so bad that it's not immediately clear which is the sender and which is the receiver - so let me tell you now, the small one is the sender that you hook up to your router.
One additional thing I really like about this vs the WN3000RP is that this device duplicates the wifi network as opposed to creating a different wifi spot. So as you're going from the wifi spot created by your router, to the wifi spot created by the "wireless access point", your laptop or other device doesn't have to switch anything. It just sees the signal get weaker and then stronger as you go from one point to the next. With the WN3000RP, it creates a separate connection, so your tablet or whatever has to say "ooh.. I'm not getting a strong enough signal, I gotta switch to another hot spot that I have permissions for".
The internet connection to this device seems faster than the WN3000RP, but it's possible I received a mildly defective WN3000RP. Like I say, it slowly died over 2 years.
How far will it send the signal over the wires? I don't know the outer limits, but I can tell you my set up. I can say that in my house, it is going about a hundred feet through 12/2 Romex to a breaker box, then about another 80 feet through underground 6/2 to another breaker box and then another 20 feet of 12/2 Romex to the receiver/wifi spot and the signal is great. I'm sure that performance will vary with the thickness of your wires, how much load you have on them, whether you use a lot of electric motors (electric motors create back current in wires and make the electricity "dirty"). But like I say, I do a lot of power tool stuff in my garage and I didn't experience any problems watching Netflix, or listening to music.

Scratch disk

Will this hard drive work as a scratch disk when editing video or photos? Is the usb 3.0 fast enough to want to use it as a scratch disk?
I just used it edit a documentary at 720P, 30fps on AVID. I believe the compression was DNXHD75. I also used the same video with After Effects. I had no issues.

USB 3 is fast enough as a sending format for regular HD video. The limiting factor would be the drive. Usually, you want a drive with 7200RPMS. If you don't, then you may sometimes run into issues where the video stalls. But in this case, I edited for a week and had no issues.
