First off, I will state that I am a longtime Amazon Prime member and enthusiastic Amazon customer. We have several Amazon products in our home that we use daily, love and enjoy, among them, the Echo Dot and five Fire Tablets, and other such things as Amazon Basics items, etc. So it was with much enthusiasm that I decided to delve into the world of the Fire TV streaming devices.
We already have (or have had in the past) an Apple TV, Google Chromecasts, and Rokus. We gave away our Chromecasts in favor of the Roku platform because we liked having dedicated external remotes and simply liked the Roku experience better. And I personally love my Apple TV and have that as my main streaming device. That all said, Best Buy had a very tempting sale on the Fire TV Stick (only $24.99) so I decided to give it a try since one of our TV's needed a streaming device.
I set it all up and proceeded to add all the apps we wanted. I realized that the Fire TV platform does NOT support the Spectrum TV app, which is how we access our cable channels (we ditched the traditional cable set up, opting out of the "renting" of set-top boxes and having 10,000 channels we never watched, in favor of the new "a la carte" option of picking the channels we want and only paying for those--love it). Well, since this particular TV I was attaching the Fire TV stick to was one that we weren't going to use much, just occasionally, that wasn't a dealbreaker. As long as I could get all the apps of the channels and programs we wanted, I was cool with it.
But once I finished the initial set up and downloaded all the apps and began to use the TV in earnest, I ran into two big problems. First of all was the UI (user interface), how the navigation works when picking and choosing apps and movies and shows I wanted to watch. It was painfully slow and convoluted. Ugh! I was somewhat used to it, as it's sort of the same as when I use the Amazon Prime TV app on our Rokus and Apple TV, but this was ten times worse. I couldn't believe how much I had to click around just to get to one show/movie/program that I wanted to watch in particular. I know that Alexa is baked into the remote, but I don't want to have to use Alexa ever single darn time, to navigate everything and anything while watching TV. I shouldn't have to.
But the even bigger problem was the slowness of the entire system. We have a very fast wireless Internet connection, hardly have any problems at all--and this is with a family of five all with our laptops, tablets, phones, TV's etc. all heavily using the Internet at any given time. So I know the problem is definitely not with our Internet/wireless speeds or connectivity. But this Fire TV stick was constantly buffering, restarting, and just generally working slow.

I bought two of these, one Mooshroom and one Baby White Sheep. My kids love playing Minecraft, and they love these cute little stuffed animals. My daughter clipped her Mooshroom onto her little purse, and my son just likes playing with his Baby White Sheep. I'd get the others if I could find them (our local Best Buy didn't have any of the others, and if you buy them online you can't choose which ones to get; it's random).

This is my third Roku streaming stick (fourth Roku overall--I also have the Roku Premiere Plus). After years and years and years of having the outrageous cable bills and paying for ten thousand channels we never watched, I finally convinced my husband to CUT THE CORD. Enter the Roku streaming stick. If you have a good internet service (read: fast speed internet), all you need is this streaming stick. We cut our cable off and our bill for a really good, fast, high speed internet is literally $100 cheaper without all the baggage of those ten million channels we never watched anyway. We already subscribed to Netflix (and thanks to my love of all things Star Trek, we have a subscription to CBS All Access as well). Between those two subscriptions and all the free (totally free) apps found on Roku to watch various movies and tv, it's all we need. And this is with three kids, a preschooler, an elementary school aged kid, and a teenager. They are more than happy with their YouTube, Netflix, and Internet shenanigans.
But wait, there's more. Lo and behold, our former cable provider (Spectrum) offered us a good deal to come back to them--we could choose any ten cable channels we wanted (a la carte), plus have the major OTA channels (ABC/CBS/NBC/FOX/PBS) included and not counted among the 10 chosen channels, for a very low price of $20/month. As we live in an area where even the best (expensive) antennae never worked to receive those local channels, we jumped at the chance and now our tv experience is complete. Our (already bought) Roku streamers basically work in place of those cable set-top boxes that I hated paying ridiculous monthly "rental" fees for. Our total monthly bill now, for our high speed internet and cable tv (of channels we actually WATCH), is a fraction of what it was before. A win-win overall.

I am writing this as an avid Apple product user and fan. In my family we have several Apple products, including a bunch of iPads and iPad minis. This Amazon Fire Tablet stands up pretty well to the pricier iPads. Even better, I bought it on sale for $99. Can't beat that price!
The image quality is very, very good--comparable to our iPads. I bought this particular tablet for my husband and he swears the screen quality, the responsiveness of the games/apps he uses, everything, is just as good as our iPads. He's constantly teasing me that people who would buy iPads for triple the cost of this Fire Tablet are nuts. Of course he's just trying to get me riled up since he knows I love my Apple products.
I will say that the only downside is the limits of the Amazon app store. I did sideload the Google Play Store so that my husband could download the real official YouTube app, among other apps not available on Amazon. I realize, though, that the average consumer would probably not know to do this, or would not want to (it does void any warranty on the tablet).

I bought two of these for my kids, and they love them. They are so convenient, being able to pop up to use and push down flat to store. They really help my kids keep a good grip on their phones. And it's great to use as a stand to prop up the phone on a table or desk, or anything else. I would buy one for myself if I didn't have a phone with wireless charging (it won't work with wireless charging).

I bought this online but when I actually opened it and had it in my hands, I could not believe how cheap and flimsy it was. It is certainly not worth it's original price of $24.99! It's not even worth the price I paid for it ($12.99). I immediately returned it, it's so bad. It provides practically no real protection at all. And the material it's made out of...I've had many other cases in the past from various manufacturers, and I've never encountered one that felt this strange, a kind of rubbery yet gritty feel with a strange chemical smell. It should be sold at the local dollar store, seriously.

Our previous cheap toaster bit the dust so I picked up this one. We have an Oster toaster oven that's worked well for us so I thought I'd give one of their toasters a try. It's worked well so far (have had it approximately 4 months and counting). Toasts evenly, and handles larger items like bagels with ease. Hopefully it'll last a long time!

Picked this up at a sale price of 34.99 and at that price I consider it a good buy. I am an Amazon Prime member and well-versed in all things Amazon, and have had previous Fire tablets in the past, so I was pretty confident in this purchase. I basically only needed a cheap tablet to use as an e-Reader because I wanted to use the Libby by OverDrive app, which is a lot easier and more straightforward to use rather than the Kindle app when it comes to borrowing e-Books from my local library. Caveat Emptor, however--I had to side load the Google PlayStore in order to get the Libby app. I would honestly only recommend this to those fully immersed in the Amazon ecosystem or those who can and are willing to sideload the Google PlayStore onto it; otherwise, you are restricted to the limited apps found in the Amazon Appstore.

I bought this on Deal of the Day for only $24.99--a definite steal! I honestly don't think it's worth the regular price of $99, however. While it has a small footprint and looks quite elegant on one of our living room side tables, there is one annoying aspect of it--the display. The digital clock display is slightly blurry and therefore constantly looks out of focus, like it either needs to be cleaned or it's deceiving you into thinking you need a new eyeglass/contact lens prescription. But, that pesky aspect aside, it works flawlessly as a Google Home. Before buying this I already had a Google Home Mini, so I was familiar with the whole Google AI technology system. (We also happen to have an Amazon Echo Dot, and overall the Google AI works much better, smoother, and responds more relevantly and correctly.) So when this went on sale for a great price, I snatched it right up. At a fraction of the price of a regular Google Home, and half the price of a Google Home Mini, it can't be beat. The speaker sounds good as well. We have a Google Play Music/YouTube Family Plan so it''s fun to just ask Google to play virtually any song we want.

You think that you can get everything out with brushing, flossing, and mouthwash, but this will change your mind forever! I've had this Waterpik for a few weeks and I continue to be amazed at what it flushes out, even after a good brushing, mouthwash rinse, and thorough flossing. The different included attachments are certainly a plus--they really help in getting to the gum line and blasting out any tartar, buildup, food residue and pieces, etc. I definitely recommend this for a good deep teeth and gum cleaning daily.
