Great backup device for iPhoto Library

I reformatted to the Mac OS Extended Journaled format on my MacBook Air. I partitioned 60 GB for Mac and 4 GB for FAT32. I can backup the whole iPhoto library in one copy and paste function to the 60 GB partition. Just copy and repeat once a month or so. The 4 GB is just for potential backup of windows type files. Works great so far.

I want to use this without having it connected to the internet. I used to use a PS3 synced to my PC through DLNA without any internet and could watch movies stored on my PC's Hard drive. Can this do it too? I currently have no broadband internet where i live (out in the country)

what memory card do I need for the GPS?
What GPS. Some would use this SD card. Many however use a micro SD card with higher capacity, e.g., 16 GB Micro SD for a Garmin.
