trouble at first

I purchased this printer after reading lots of reviews. Had trouble from the start. The printer wouldn't register that I had installed the ink cartridges, then it kept saying I was out of paper when I wasn't. Then when I changed the ink for the first time after a couple months, the print quality was horrible with streaks. I used up half of the ink just cleaning the cartridges over and over. I finally returned it to the store. They were nice and let me return it even though I was supposed to send it in to HP for repairs instead. After trying to pick a new, different printer, I decided I would give this one another try since it came with such good reviews and I hated to have to learn another new printer. Since Best Buy was sold out of this printer when I needed it, I bought the same printer from Office Depot and so far so good. I have had it a couple weeks and have not had any of the same issues. I must have just gotten a defective printer the first time.
