Most of the time I'm on a train, I like to charge and use my wired noise-canceling headphones at the same time. My new phone is the first I've had without the headphone jack. This is the mythical missing cable in the new word of USB-C Apple products. Yes, it's nice to have the direct connection to a recent model of Macbook & Macbook Pro, but the real value is that this is the key to unlocking the fast-charging capabilities of the newest iPhones when combined with Apple power bricks that either come with the laptops or bought separately.
It's an Apple product, so certified to work, and there are not many more options out there. Time will tell if the rubber cable casing bunches and wears out as the standard Lightning-to-USB-A cables. It certainly feels thicker, and most people won't be throwing this around as much.

Short, sturdy Lightning cable

I really like the fact that power bricks for ipads and macbooks have interchangeable adapters built right into them. Rather than have a clumsy adapter dangling off the power brick, you just swap out the plug and you have a nicely integrated travel solution.
My only wish would be a clever, well-designed packing/carrying solution to bring multiple adapters along with you without having these loose if you're looking to do some long-term travel. The box is bulky, and only the N.A. adapter folds smartly into itself.

I have a Boom for my home and added a mini Boom for my office. I didn't think I would want the Roll when it came out because the other two met all my needs. Then I started planning a backpacking trip through Asia, and realized that the Roll's flat profile would be more ideal for my packing style: small, flat, with a smart bungee attachment solution. The quality and features of UE's other speakers are employed here, and I love the added waterproofing. I plan on using this in the shower as well as my main travel/camping speaker.
The power button is a little stiff to activate and the port for the power cable is at an awkward angle, but those are only minor complaints.
