I was an eer* user, until I had an eer* unit die on me. I decided to try the Google system and I'm glad I did. First, the Google units seem to have more range. Next, I have almost zero outages whereas before I was resetting units constantly. Before, it was constant buffering...now it's rare. I also think the Google software gives you more control over the network than the eer* software. And to top it off, the Google system costs less. It's win-win and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend these to anybody.

I have purchased and installed many different routers, and not the cheap ones either. eero is by far the best performing setup I have ever used, hands down. I was skeptical, because as you will read in other reviews, this system does not have a lot of software settings and features. However, it out performs any other single router I have ever used (per the rules here, I won't list brand names).
You download the eero app, then connect the first eero to your internet modem. There are 2 LAN ports on the eero and you can use either one to connect to the modem. Once you get it set up to your internet provider, the app will ask you if you want to install another eero. Put the second one where you want it, set it up through the app, and repeat.
I have a sub par internet connection. On a good day I'll get 3Mbps if I'm lucky. With my old setup (and by that I mean, with every other name brand router I have ever used, including the 4 antenna ones), I could not watch TV while the kids were online. With the eero setup, I can watch TV, one kid can be downloading something while the other is on YouTube, etc. I don't have to kill every other device to watch tv anymore. Buffering almost doesn't exist any more, and when it happens it doesn't last 15 minutes anymore. And like I said, my internet is weak (I live out in the country and have no options).
Yeah, the initial cost is higher than you might think it should be, but it's worth it. And for non-technical people the eero system has no learning curve. Each eero has 2 LAN ports and a USB port. Your devices automatically chose which eero to use without your intervention. eero is not like using range extenders with a regular router. I know because I've tried that, too. The eero system is more powerful, far easier to set up and far more user friendly.
Don't let the price scare you, it's totally worth it and you will have a smile on your face when you are done installing them!

If you are getting a curved screen Samsung TV, you need to get this sound bar and subwoofer. The built in speakers in the TV are small (think about how thin the tv is), and the sound from them is anemic. This sound bar and sub connects to the tv via Bluetooth from within the tv's settings menu (and by other methods). You can set it up so that it turns on and off when you turn the tv on and off. It also supports surround sound. If you are buying the tv, by all means buy this at the same time. You will just end up going back to the store if you don't! P.S. you can connect any Bluetooth sound device to this sound bar/subwoofer...an added bonus!

The difference between standard hi def and 4k is amazing. 4k is almost better looking than real life! As for this particular TV, the curved screen really cuts down on glare. The curve also gives people sitting at an angle to the screen a much better view. This TV uses less power and gives off less heat than our previous standard hi def TV. I have nothing but good things to say about it. No dead pixels, great picture, simple remote.

When you get a new washer and you have it delivered and installed, the installers will not reuse your old hoses for liability reasons. Get these because you are going to need them. They are shiny stainless steel, for those of you who like shiny things. I recommend them because water can't just magically enter your washing machine.

When you get a new washer and dryer you have to purchase new vent pipes and hoses. The installers will not use an old vent or hose for liability reasons. They also won't use the thin foil-like vent tubes...it has to be rigid like this one. You have to get it so just do it and you'll be good to go.

Yes. If you have your HD antenna connected to one input and the Roku connected to another, you are good to go. Just switch inputs (with your TV remote) to watch one or the other.

we have dsl. is this strong enough for the romio ota programmer? and does the wifi have to be on constantly or just a few times a week?
dsl would be good enough. I use a wireless internet provider that averages 1 to 3 Mbps and it works fine.
The Roku connects via wifi so to watch it, wifi has to be on. No connection means no watching the Roku.

Nope. Your computer has nothing to do with the Roku and you don't have to use it in order to watch Netflix on the Roku.

If I already have a "smart TV", does having Roku give me anything new?
I have a smart TV with youtube, hulu, netflix, etc., accessible through the TV. Will Roku add anything that I don't already have? I got one for Christmas and don't know if I should keep it or take it back and exchange for something I do need.
If you have a smart TV, you don't need the Roku...I'm pretty sure it doesn't have anything on it that your TV doesn't already have or can get.

You need a Roku for each TV. For the wifi question check out the Roku website. I have seen my Roku units in my bluetooth connection list on my tablet, but haven't tried connecting that way or with a computer....

Do you have the option of watching any of the streaming programming at a later time?
For example, if you were to go to "sleep" during the program, can you access the program later, or pick up say mid-program, or do you have to rewatch entire program, if that is even an option?
You can access the program whenever you want to and watch it as many times as you want to. You sometimes have the option to pick up where you left off, or start the program from the beginning. You can also fast forward or rewind to whatever place you want to in a program, if for some reason you aren't given an option to continue where you left off.

can roku be used with a tv that is hooked to dirctv?
Yes it can be used along with any other provider, as long as you have an extra HDMI port on your tv to connect the Roku. You would just switch from whatever port the DTV was on to the port the Roku is connected to.
