I have purchased several of these over the years and all still function. I only need them a few times a year so I always get them without the contract. Buy the storage level you need; good for a month. I like the newer models because they show exactly how much data is still available. Easy to set up regular and guest accounts. Good battery time.
The only problem I've had is not with the device, but with adding more data if you run out. The default is to extend your subscription a month (and not start with the new data until the current month has ended. Usually gets straightened out in a phone call (and less critical now that you can see how much data is left), but it is annoying.
Other than that, great product.

Skipping the question of why dryers aren't shipped with power cords, this cord appears to be well constructed. It's one sealed piece, not particularly flexible. What can you say about an electrical cord? That it loved Mozart and Bach, the Beatles, (oops, that was something else).

I grew up with plastic hoses; never thought anything about the hoses.
Ever hard a garden hose crack? The water coming into your washer is under pretty high pressure and one doesn't always remember to turn the water supply off when the load is complete. You don't even want to think about the consequences of having one of these hoses failing.
Could a stainless steel hose split? Maybe, but I'm not going to worry about it. These seem to be well constructed and I feel confident that, at least for the lifetime of my washer, there is at least one (ok, two) components that I don't need to worry about.

Dryer vent? What's the big deal. I've had dryer vents forever: a little aluminum foil wrapped around a slinky, right?
This thing is amazing. It's got real connectors (like a solid right angle piece). Somewhat actually thought about the design. No more worries about the vent being crushed when you push the dryer back against the wall, no more crimping at the point of connection to the dryer. It's got to help the dryer.
Spend the few extra bucks. And throw away that old slinky.

Couldn't imagine a better dryer

As I imagine is the case with most people, the dryer choice is driven by the purchase of the matching washer. This was my case, but the specs and existing dryer views contributed to the decision to purchase this LG model.
The dryer comes with the standard selection of presets and anything can easily be modified.
The most amazing attribute of this dryer is how absolutely quiet it is. I constantly find myself checking to see if it's still running (even though I know I haven't heard the finish chimes). The wrinkle prevention settings appear to work well. The default drying times for any particular setting seem to be very accurate, although for large bulky items that tend to knot (e.g., sheets) , there may be damp spots. I don't think any dryer can solve that problem. I like the final result to be slightly warm, versus just 'dry,' so I'll often bump the dryness level up one notch. It's just so easy.
For the techie in the family, you can download an LG app that ads extra settings. Personally, if I start doing laundry with a phone in my hand I'm afraid it'll end up in the washer, so I don't really use the app.
Bottom line - excellent dryer. You can pay more for 'advanced' models, but I'm not sure you'd get anything more usable. Paired with the matching washer makes this purchase a no-brainer.

This replaced our old Duet washer, which we loved. After reading reviews we decided on this model as best fitting our desired price range and features. We weren't looking for the steam option but for the small bump in price it seemed worth it (besides, my wife liked the shiny chrome door better).
The washer has a large number of preset settings, but, like every other washer out there, everything can easily be overridden.
The first thing we noticed was how absolutely quiet this machine is. Some reviews complained of a water thump when water was being added, but I have not noticed this. I like the fact that it figures out how big the load is and adjusts the water level appropriately (there's also an 'add more water' option). You can also specify 'cold water' wash for any setting. This increases the wash time somewhat, but the clothes seem to be every bit as clean as when the normal warm wash is used.
My only complaint is that the panel for the (eight) option settings is not back lit so, at least with our setup, it's not easy to read the options (things like pre-wash, wash delay).

Do you have to purchase a data plan each month or when it expires. In my situation, it may be more than 30 days between when it is needed. Thank you.
No. I use mine (multiple actually) about two or three times a year. The data plans are good for a month (don't use it all in a month, you lose it).
