Doesn't distribute water and detergent evenly

There have been times that during a presoak that I have paused the cycle to inspect the clothing. I have found pockets or dry spots within the middle of dirty laundry and times where the laundry detergent has just stayed on one or two items of clothing. I've found that loading the putting the laundry detergent in the wash drum and putting the clothing the outer edge of the drum has been the most effective.
