I needed to get more cd's in a limited space. I took the cd's out the plastic holders and placed them in the sleeves. I also color coded by music groups, e.g.: Jazz, R & B, Gospel etc.

Are these CD sleeves protecting discs from enviromental harm and deteriation or just scratches/smudges?
What would you suggest for MRI CD for protective storage but not expensive?

The sleeves are protecting the CDs from the environment and from scratches and smudges. I used a decorative basket/ tray I purchased from The Container Store. It even had a cloth cover which made it more decorative. It was less than $5 and holds abt 35-50 cd's, depending on how you arrange them.
