This USB turntable does what I wanted it to do at a modest price. Although it comes with a Sony audio program, I use my Roxio audio program for recording and burning CDs, and it works just fine.

Great idea to turn regular HDTVs into SMART HDTVs

Google Chromecast is a great idea, but videos lagging behind audios from my Windows 7 laptop makes them virtually un-watchable. Also, not being able to stream local videos / pictures from my laptop is disappointing. If anyone out there has a solution to these issues, please let me know. Thanks. & best - Rob

What's great about it: Streams Google Chrome browser web sites and videos to your HD TV
What's not so great: Youtube & other videos consistently lag the audio track, can't show local videos and pictures from laptop / phone, etc.

Sound
Cannot get sound from the stereo, is there anything special we need to do when installing? We have windows 7.
I noticed that too. I finally just ran a stereo cord from the rca cables (you need to use female to female rca adapters ,and an rca to stereo mini-plug cable to do this) to the input on my sound card. You can also record that way, but I like the recording quality of the USB connection better. Hope this helps. Best - Rob
