I have found this ExHD to function as I expected. I do not trust the cloud and this unit works well as a storage device for any of my files. It also doubles as a movie archive that simply needs to be plugged in by USB to my TVs to access them.

The head Hobbit Kiwi (Jackson) wraps it all up nicely in this end to The Hobbit trilogy. I enjoy the 3D version because it emphasizes the edge of the earth fall offs of Middle-Earth so well. Looking forward to the Extended Version,

My cable box (Digital Transport Adapter, Comcast) only has coax in/out not RCA, how would I hook this up to it?
I'm not sure that you can with that wiring. Perhps going through the TV or another device and then routing it to the DVD-VCR recorder.

Can I record from my tv directly on a dvd? If so how would I do it.
Well. Not sure, but I think that one sound and video data leads coming off either the TV out (if there is one) to the device might do it.

Can this system replace my DVR???
Perhaps. I think it would depend upon the vido source. I think that data is written to the HD of the device before it is sritten to the DVD.
