After nearly three decades of whizzing across the videogame landscape, the spiny speedster streaks onto the big screen in this engaging mix of live action and animation. Having breached the barrier into our universe-specifically, small-town Montana-Sonic (voiced by Ben Schwartz) gets the help of a sympathetic cop (James Marsden) in outrunning the pursuing feds and their hired gun, crackpot scientist Dr. Ivo Robotnik (Jim Carrey). Bruce Lee fans will be knocked out by this 25th anniversary edition of Enter the Dragon. The DVD boasts a widescreen anamorphic 2.35:1 transfer. A closed-captioned English soundtrack can be heard in Dolby Digital 5.1, while Spanish and French soundtracks are rendered in Dolby Digital Stereo. English, French, and Spanish subtitles are also accessible. The bountiful supplemental materials include audio commentary by the producer and screenwriter, a behind-the-scenes documentary shot in 1973, a Bruce Lee documentary, an interview with Linda Lee Cadwell, production notes, a handful of theatrical trailers, and a generous helping of television advertisements. One is hard-pressed to think of a more definitive release for this continually popular cult favorite.

After attracting notoriety at movie theaters around the world (along with plenty of profits) with the brutal kung-fu hit The Street Fighter, the character of Terry Tsugury (Chiba) was quickly revived for Return of the Street Fighter. This time, Tsugury is hired by Japanese mobster Otaguru (Tanaka) to kill a pair of captured employees so they cannot inform on his activities (he has teamed with the American mafia under the guise of building a martial arts center). When Otaguru orders Tsugury to kill his old friend Masoaka (Suzuki), Tsugury refuses and is forced to go on the run with. To make matters worse, Junjo (Ishibashi), Tsugury's old nemesis, has reappeared and set his sights on revenge. Tsugury takes a vicious beating from Junjo, but recovers in time to punch, kick, and gouge his way through everyone who has crossed him during the finale. Although critics considered it to be little more than a hyper-violent cartoon, Return of the Street Fighter found favor with action fans who loved the first installment and its success inspired another sequel, The Streetfighter's Last Revenge.
