Minecraft is a game about placing blocks and going on adventures.Explore randomly generated worlds and build amazing things from the simplest of homes to the grandest of castles. Play in creative mode with unlimited resources or mine deep into the world in survival mode, crafting weapons and armor to fend off the dangerous mobs.

I have had this router for 7 months. I am already experiencing lag in all devices, regardless of range. My computer is 5' away from it and even it lags when surfing the internet. Surfing, not streaming video. It was great at first but can no longer handle the workload I need it to handle. I have multiple gaming consoles, tablets and cell phones. If you have similar usage to that then you may want to check a different router as this one will wear out quick. Also, you cant change the admin password on it.

I have talked with customer service. They wanted to troubleshoot it. I explained that I had already done those steps they suggested and the router had been disconnected and replaced and the problems have went away. They said that since the lights are flashing on it then it is working. Anyone with any technical experience knows that is not necessarily true. This one worked great out of the box but thats it. I replaced it with a TP-Link AC5400 last week, hopefully it continues to perform flawlessly. I will never buy netgear again after that experience.

Before making an expensive purchase on a product meant to be used extensively I always read customer reviews. I start with the one star then work up. What I noticed were two negatives which stood out:
1.) Purchasers kept losing network connections and had to do a hard reset.
2.) Purchasers said configuration was difficult.
While we have only had this router for two weeks we have not had to do a reset as of yet. Also, configuration was somewhat a breeze. If you let the router do its work and are patient it will get you online handily. It does take time to configure itself and one may be thinking "it's not working"; yet let it go and it will do its "configuration thing".
As for the pluses we see in our household (which includes a home-based business, two desktop computers, two wireless printers, four tablets, four smart phones, three laptops, a smart TV, a smart thermostat) the Netgear Nighthawk X6 AC3200, which replaced our Netgear R6300 (a good router as well), added noticeable speed and especially range from the router by quite a bit. My son is an avid streamer and does not see his Internet speed slowed down at all which is critical while streaming, slowdowns did sometimes happen with the 6300. While I do feel the router is a bit pricey at over $300 with tax, so far I have not heard, "the Internet disconnected" or "the Internet is really slow". Not having to hear that, at least so far, is peace of mind to me. One thing you must do upon purchasing is upgrade the firmware to the newest version! I believe many of the bad reviews are using older firmware. If we start to have issues I will stay up to date and amend this review, yet so far so good. If you just use the default settings you should not be sorry

I felt the same way about it as you did. NO problems out of the box and installation was fairly easy. Always keep it up to date. Just a heads up, the "slow internet" and "internet disconnected" comments are coming. I bought this same router in November 2018, less than a year ago. It lasted about 6 months before I started getting those comments. My PC is 5' from the router and takes about 30 seconds to load a website. Not crazy long, but it gradually got worse until I replaced it 2 weeks ago. I read horrid reviews of Netgears customer service. While I didn't experience most of what those reviews were, I will tell you what I experienced. They will troubleshoot with you, mine failed the troubleshooting except for 1 step. "The lights are flashing so it is working." You can pay to ship it back to Netgear for further testing at your expense. They will not send you a replacement until you send them your existing router, which essentially disables your network.
