I'm going to use this with my new xfi modem from xfinity since the new modem doesn't have the needed ports my old xfinity modem had but will give me more speed. Can I use an old cat5 cable to go from the modem to the Netgear switch or do I need Cat7 ?
You can still use your old cables if you have to or don't want to buy new cables. You might get better speeds with Cat 7 cables. It really depends on your network cards. If your fine with your existing cables, just use them. I recommend getting new ones. Less problems in the future.
