I have three of these in service (3yrs to 2 mos) and they work well when getting full sun light. Do keep in mind that this is not a charger but a maintainer. I have noticed that if a battery gets below 60% it will not recover with the solar panel with out being charged. For areas with full sun all day and the panel in the best location to receive the sun should have better luck. **Side note** take care of the cable, you can not get replacements from Arlo or any place on the web that I could see.

I got this to share a cable box. It worked great for maybe the first three months and then started have little issues staying connected. As time passed they started having a connecting issue daily and getting hot. As of this review the issue is the same and getting worse. If I want to use the device I have to unplug and re-plug several times both the TX and the RX. I really like the idea of wireless sharing and HDMI but this device needs work.

Can I use my old arlo camera with the new arlo pro 2. I have 5 camera that don't communicate they take pictures only. How many can I use on this new base station.
Yes, as far as I was able to tell before I returned the PRO2. This issue is that you have to sync the cameras to what ever base you like, they will not drag and drop from one to another. The Arlo "Smart" is the issue you are having because of the way they have changed the software and hardware config.
