The Steelbook case is fantastic! It is a thing of beauty. The film itself, however, was disappointing. I originally wanted to watch this in theaters but didn’t get the chance. I would have been very upset if I had. You’ve read how this film basically trashes the last three Terminator films, and that is true. This film works too hard to get a political message across, creating a new set of heroes when it didn’t have to. It seems Hollywood should just create new franchises where they can push their new agendas and ideas rather than try to “rectify” all the old franchises they deem to be outdated. Hollywood needs to stop trying to rewrite history and instead accept films from a different era as a time stamp to what people enjoyed and thought during that time. All the main characters that drive the film are women. Nothing wrong with that, but consider that the characters who always drove the franchise were John Connor, Sarah Connor, and the Terminator, not three women. I also didn’t care for the fate of these characters, unlike in other films of the franchise. They were poorly written and forced. The ending is left open for them to make another film, but I feel as though they did so much damage to the franchise that I don’t know if we should see another film made. I’m begging they don’t make another. I’ve concluded that six films in this franchise is three too many.

What else is there to say about this film? It is amazing and the quality in 4K and sound is stunning. Love the steelbook but probably would not have paid this much for the pre-order had I known it did not come with a digital copy. At this point, all 4K films released should come with a digital copy. It should be standard practice, especially when a customer is paying these prices on street dates.

By far one of the best films of 2018! Like Rocky IV, where you root for the protagonist, this film will have you rooting for Creed. What is unexpected is your overall feelings for the antagonist. In this film, you also get a glimpse of the other side and feel for Drago and his son. You understand their motivation to win and want to root for them as well, if it weren’t for the fact that they were challenging Creed. This film is about family, and the sacrifices we make as individuals to allow our children to live a better life than us. It is about steering our children away from making some poor decisions we may have made in life and instead making better choices. It is a film that shows the relationship between a father and son, as depicted by Drago and his son as well as Rocky and Creed (who is like a son to him). It is also about reconnecting and the importance of keeping the family unit alive, being aware of who we are, where we come from, and knowing where we are headed. Well acted and brilliantly written, it is a shame this film was overlooked by the Oscars.
In regards to the Steelbook 4K case, what you see is what you get. The sound and picture are fantastic. A must own film for anyone who enjoys this medium.
