I went overboard and I bought several of these bookshelf speakers in the various sizes offered. They sound great for being so small and the amount of of bass they produce is unbelievable. if you can do yourself a favor and buy this pair of speakers they are just as good as Sonus Faber speakers that I have as a comparison.

Enjoy big sound in a compact package with this Bowers & Wilkins two-way speaker. It has a bass/midrange driver that offers realistic, powerful audio, and its Carbon Dome tweeter delivers accurate highs at the upper end of the frequency response range of 50Hz - 28kHz. I realize that these speakers are not cheap (price) but wow do they make a difference in listening quality when paired with a good preamp, AVR, AMP etc. the listening quality from the cabinet is really good, I am a huge Sonus Faber fan and have multiple speakers but these B&W are really nice to listen too! if you can and they are in your purchasing range do yourself a favor buy a pair, you wont be disappointed.

Why would I need this?
the surface dock helps to make things easier for connecting to power and keeping from getting to overly hot (as I noticed with the travel charger) and more importantly you can connect the higher resolution monitors via USB-C to docking station rather than the port on the side on the laptop as I noticed that it also limits the connection of the flash drive (which by the way is easier to connect to the docking station). I also noticed a lot more errors to the usb-c port when connecting directly to it daily. everything about the surface laptop is better with it since I work from home.
