This is a review for the quality of the discs including my thoughts on picture and sound. This is not a review of the show itself (which I enjoy).
Picture looks great, and the landscape and nature shots are incredible. I imagine this was shot digitally and run through minimal processing. Grain is present, giving a very filmic look, and the colors seem to me to appear very natural.
The sound too is impressive, filling a natural soundstage with nice ambient effects as well. During some of the musical numbers (of which this season seems to offer plenty) the soundstage is large and represents the scene well.
There also seem to be a good bit of extras, and nothing feels packed. 8 episodes and extras are spread over four discs.
I am very happy with the quality of the package, and I am glad to own these in physical format, as it represents the very best this show can look outside of 4K physical media.

I just watched this movie in 4K last night, and man, was it a stunner. Very filmic with light grain that looks very natural. Colors are vibrant, including the slight purple and teal hues on Robocop's suit. Blacks also look great, and the grit and grime of Old Detroit are well represented. It's also loaded with special features! Absolutely worth picking up!

Entertaining, if dated action drama

The picture and sound are the reasons to revisit this movie. It's been a long time prior to now since I watched it, and the movie, while entertaining, is a little melodramatic and certainly dated to the early '90's. The remastered picture and sound however look and sound right out of the modern era. Tremendous overhead and low-end sound, and crisp picture quality without looking scrubbed. The steelbook is nice too.

I've purchased this movie in every format except laserdisc, dating back to VHS. This is clearly the best this movie has ever looked in the home viewing environment. Colors skew much more to the drab blue tones appropriate for a prison drama set in the 40's. If you are a fan of this movie, this is the best way to view it.
