From the rear side of washer, which side is cold and which side is hot?
Most new model washers have color coded the water inlet connection on the back of the washer now. Usually, facing the back of the washer you will see the water inlet connections from left to right or top and bottom marked RED for HOT and BLUE for COLD, however, if the are not color coded then HOT should have an “H” stamped in the metal. If this is missing or is not stamped then HOT is always on the LEFT side if side to side or on the bottom if stacked up and down

Going to have LG high efficiency (HE) front loader installed by BB. Are these hoses designed for HE machines? Fluidmaster has hoses designed for HE machines. I read that LG water hammer issues have been resolved with the original hoses or HE hoses.
All washing machines have standard hoses but you may want the steel braided hoses since they protect your home from bursting like standard hoses have a tendency to do. They work fine for any washing machine irregardless of the brand or make

Does this come with a drain pan? I am installing on the second floor of a house, does it need a drain pan to prevent damage in cadence of a leak?
Washers do not come with drain pans, these must be purchased separately but you may want to measure the space these units are going into because drain pans are all one standard size which are pretty large and may not work in the space where it is going

what if i need 8 foot long hoses - not 6 foot?
Most washers hoses come in standard 6ft but are usually available in 8ft. Be sure to ask for the steel braided hoses for the hot and cold connections

Yes, since most new washers don’t come with hoses any more then the sales person should recommend the steel braided hot and cold hoses. If they don’t, just ask for the steel braided hose with the washers at the time of your purchase

Most stores that sell washers and dryers usually offer either free installation or at a discounted price and will ask if you want the old one hauled away or possibly donated so you may want to ask when you go to make your purchase
