Does this drive need a firmware update or is it good to go from the box?..
It is good right out of the box. All you do is unscrew the mounting screw and spacer in the PS5, align it with the proper hole, tilt the drive into the connector and screw it down. You don't have to torque the screw, just snug it up. I saw an immediate increase in load times on my PS5. I hope this helps.
