well it plays All Xbox one Games and it plays i want to say i think they said 600 or so maybe more 360 games i forget the number but it's pretty big. however there are still plenty of 360 games it doesn't play like i own a couple of them that can't play on it. here's why some of the studio's have since closed and some of them nobody knows i think who owns the rights to the games i don't think. than there are studios that didn't think that they would be worth porting over to the X.

it plays some OG xbox games as well but really only like i want to say 20-30 games so it's not very many, the next console they are working on is suppose to play more from all consoles they say than they ported over to the X because those same people i talked about how they weren't sure about how much money would be made now see they can make a lot of money. so while i don't think every single game will be playable on the next console you will see a lot more no doubt. they this month for the month of June of this year just released their last batch of Backwards Combality games so no more of those are sadly coming to the X. the S i don't think has that option to play the older games at least not when it comes to playing your old 360 discs. i hope that helped
