A very stunning CG-animted film, but a bit too kid-friendly; it needed some adult themes and humor to give it that usual Lupin charm. Was a little off put that the film's third act was a little too derivative of Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade's finale but I was quite pleased the original English voice actors were cast to return for this. The SteelBook itself is quite gorgeous, almost fashioned after the mechanical book within the story, and has lovely spot gloss throughout. Worth it for the animation quality and the packaging as well.

First of all, when taking it out the box you feel just how solidly this remote is built, and how it fits so snuggly within the contours of your hands.
And then you run Astro's Playroom on the PS5 and REALLY feel what this controller is all about.
The haptic feedback is something needed to be experienced to be believed; and happily Astro's Playroom is designed to highlight all those features, whether it be the touchpad, the voice function, et al. However, the adaptive triggers are the real showstoppers; activating resistance in the triggers while heightening the vibration to give that sense of tension; like drawing a bow. I look forward to the games that will optimize these features.
It's incredible how evolved controllers have gotten, and with that its price point exceeding a game itself. But I do feel this is worth every bit of its production, so do resist the urge to whip it against the wall when you ragequit a game.
The PS5 console unleashes new gaming possibilities that you never anticipated. Experience lightning fast loading with an ultra-high speed SSD, deeper immersion with support for haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, and 3D Audio*, and an all-new generation of incredible PlayStation games. *3D audio via built-in TV speakers or analog/USB stereo headphones. Set up and latest system software update required.

…and if I just totally dated myself with that Luniz reference, then allow me to rejuvenate my gamer status with the latest in PlayStation hardware! I had skipped the PS4's generation which makes obtaining this all the more sweeter since its backwards compatibility is very solid AND I finally have a 4K UHD player as well! Hopefully a future firmware update will also enable 3D Blu-ray playback. I had tested this on my 3D TV and while the PS5 recognized a 3D disc was inserted, it was unable to play it; so fingers crossed that this will be remedied. Looking forward to building my PS5 library of games and eventually getting a 4K TV to optimize its visuals in all its HDR glory!

This remote has a very sleek, simple button arrangement that may be a bit oversimplified for those who sought to use it for 4K/Blu-rays. For instance, there are no main menu or chapter skip buttons on the remote itself, but rather you'd need to navigate a disc's menu via a pop-up menu on the screen. It takes getting used to, but you get the hang of it. It's definitely geared more toward streaming services, which was made more apparent when they added the speed dial buttons pictured here.
There is also a mic button that at present is inactive but most likely will be with a firmware update. So far, the only function I can see it used for is the PS Store, but only when you click on the onscreen mic icon (which surprisingly activates a tiny concealed light above the mic button on the control itself). I look forward to having all its features optimized, but at present I'd say it's worth the purchase.

I tend to shy away from designs that deviate too much from a film's original promo art, but there are so many strengths to be had in this SteelBook release that warrants a purchase. The slipcover (another addition that I usually find unnecessary with SteelBooks) is a vividly colored image of the Major's face printed on translucent materials in which you can see a peek of the SteelBook's cover. Removing the slipcover fully reveals the Major's face in construction, equally lush with color and spanning throughout the front/spine/back cover of the SteelBook. The interior art is a bit simplified in comparison, showing a new image from the film's climax. The 4K & Blu-ray discs themselves are no afterthought; both designed to resemble circuit boards with a finely embossed finish.
The contents themselves are what really won me over. Within are a generous amount of special features curiously absent from Manga/Anchor Bay's BD SteelBook and while they're both in the same aspect ratio, the aforementioned doesn't quite fill the entire screen. This Lionsgate release gives it an IMAX-like ratio and while I was only able to watch the Blu-ray disc for now, the remastered image looks beautiful as ever.
All in all, this is when package design equates as a work of art and truly makes the most of its medium. While I still love that Manga/Anchor Bay's SteelBook captures its original 1995 spirit, this new shell is definitely worth double-dipping for.

I understand this was part of the Batman 1989-1997 collection that shared the same packaging design, but I always detest designs that fail to capture the era whence it originated. Being around when this was first released, there was a very tangible spirit about it captured in its own iconic logo down to its typeface. Here, they decided to go with a bland, modern design that captures none of its mystique; just Keaton & Jack floating over a white background and city that totally contradicts the Dark Knight. Such a shame, too, because the film's presentation here is as great as I've ever seen it. The BD's special features are all standard def but plentiful (the inclusion of Prince's Batdance is such a sweet blast from the past). If you're here just for the film, then it's an alright release. Otherwise, I would seek out a much stronger stylistic design befitting of 1989.

One of my favorite Disney animated films finally gets the SteelBook treatment I've been waiting for. Beautiful glossy finish throughout with an excellently debossed title in front that unfortunately is hidden behind the J-card, so unless you opened it you wouldn't know it was there. Opening the SteelBook displays a beautiful landscape connecting on the front, spine, and back while the inside reveals a likewise magical view of Agrabah. As always, technical merits are strong on this Disney release with a wealth of special features (which I wish they contained on a separate bonus disc, but alas most are digital only). Add this Diamond in the Rough to your collection posthaste!

Finally, Casino gets the sleek SteelBook treatment it deserves which goes perfectly with the rest of my Scorsese SteelBook collection! Sometimes designs that are too heavy on the black can make the overall SteelBook design look dull, but in this case it definitely helps with the shadows and Vegas lights of the cover. The back and interior art are certainly well chosen, too. Hope to watch the 4K version soon, but the BD version is still top-notch which I only hoped they added more special features like the theatrical trailer. Bottom line, you'd be silly not to bet on this SteelBook!
The all-cartoon Magical Wondergame! Cuphead is a classic run and gun action game heavily focused on boss battles. …and I mean that literally! Any fan of “Popeye the Sailor Meets Sindbad the Sailor” would know exactly what I am talking about. The quality of animation, soundtrack, and devil in the details (pun very intended) is a sight to behold, that it is hard to believe that you are actually playing it! And it is SUPER challenging. My nephew & I have yet to pass it but we have been loving the 2 player co-op. My only wish is that they made a physical copy of this for the Switch but aside from that, more than worthy of my kudos to the creators.
