How long is the straw cleaner, don't seem long enough for a straw! And PLEASE don't tell me as long as the handle, because the given specs in this item, has two of them; one is 13 some inches and the other 2" Thank you!

Do you put the 2 brush components in the dishwasher?
You can but if you do put it on the top rack in the dish washer. Most of the time I just squeeze a little dish washing liquid on each brush separately and wash them by hand then rinse, stand them up in the dish drainer and keep them separate until they dry so the water can drain out of the big brush before you screw the little brush back in.
