Horizon Zero Dawn serves as an excellent series launch for Guerrilla games and highlights many of the graphical abilities of the PS4. The game takes place in a far future US where robotic beasts and local villages fight for survival. The game has excellent 3rd person shooter controls that combine with a simple, but effective, weapon/skill system.

This remaster of the original Final Fantasy 12 brings one of the best PS2 RPGs to modern consoles. The Zodiac Age includes content that was included on the Japanese only release. The gameplay models a single-player MMORPG style, where you provide inputs for your party and they carry them out. Those that want more variety can set scripts to have party members react based on a battles events. As for the story, the game returns to Ivalice and tells a grand scale tale of warring nations and those that are caught up in it. It was one of my favorite PS2 RPGs and this remaster does it a great service.

Nier: Automata is a solid action RPG that focuses on a group of androids in a desolate world. For those not familiar with the Nier series (or its predecessors), the game has multiple replays (called routes), with each revealing more and more of the story in order to answer questions on reality and self. Those unfamiliar with the series may be caught off guard by the need for multiple replays of the game, but it maintains the series tradition of having the craziest and grandest scale events up to the conclusion.

Focused in a fictional New Orleans style city, the game still has the same action focused missions combined with expanding territory and taking out (or recruiting) rival gangs. It's not perfect, but I had a blast with it and the different take on the story was a nice breath of fresh air.

PSVR is fairly simple to set up and easy to configure. The included games are both excellent VR games and use the Dualshock for control so no additional purchase is necessary.

I had only played the original Spyro back in the PS1 days, so when this came out I figured I'd give it another go. Each game is enjoyable and builds on the skills from the previous titles. The redone graphics are excellent and each of the levels are easy enough to clear, but provide enough difficulty for those that want to master everything. It's a great price for 3 games for gamers of all ages.
