It remained frozen for decades, which prevented its aging, and was revived in modern times by SHIELD, becoming one of the main Avengers. In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, he has been played by actor Chris Evans since 2011, when he made his debut in the film Captain America: The First Avenger.
