Good cables for the money!

These cables are proof that reasonable priced merchandise does perform well!
I see no reason why pay up to 4X + on 4K HDMI cables for the applications I use them for!
I do not have them to "IMPRESS" any body on how lavish and idiotic I am with my resources! These 4K HDMI cables deliver under my highest expectations of quality and reasonably priced goods.

Convenient Hub!

This is the second of this unit I have purchased. It will maintain the quality in content even 4K.
Just remember to use 4K HDMI cables from 4K content source to the Hub, just as Important to use 4K HDMI cable to connect the Hub to the 4K TV/Monitor.
The first of this "Switch-Box" I got few months ago, is serving as my Central Station and expanded connectivity option to my portable 4K 40" NU7100 TV which only has 3 HDMI terminals.
I have four content sources connected to this "Switch-Box" one been UBD-KM85C Samsung 4K player; Xbox 360; Digital Direct TV (yes via HDMI); Sony 13" Laptop -PC-
From the "Switch-Box" am using a 4K HDMI to Vizio 5.1.2 Dolby Atmos sound bar/system's HDMI-In terminal, pass Through to the 40" Samsung NU7100 TV's ARC terminal. Liberating two HDMI ports/terminals on the TV itself for other content source additions later... like a PS4 Pro or later model.
Samsung TV & Vizio 5.1.2 Dolby Atmos DO behave nicely and DO communicate well together!!!

An upgrade to the previous model?

Not really!
Not impressed with the upscaling virtues in comparison to the predecessor unit I have been using with the 40" version of the NU7100. Over all, am disappointed with this 4K BD player.
This unit has a BlueTooh connectivity feature that I have found it useless and not worth the extra price tagged on this "upgrade". Seems the BT is only compatible with same brand 'stuff ' like Samsung sound bar systems that support BlueTooth connectivity. Not a reasonable excuse to add $ on the price tag for this unit! As I see it, Samsung shall toss the BlueTooth connectivity feature in for free, to entice morons like me to go buy their BT enable surround systems. Yet, if I shell out "extra" $ in the cost of this unit, and the 'extra' features I thought I paid 'extra' for are Samsung brand restricted, then I was proven to be the MORON this time! And yes, this not "feel" well! Which will not forget on my next upgrades...

Watch programs and videos with this 4K UHD Samsung smart TV. The 58-inch flat screen has PurColor technology for vibrant color effects that extend into shadowy areas in a movie, and its Motion Rate 120 effect cuts the blur in fast-action films. The cords run inside the stand of this Samsung smart TV to reduce clutter.

After setting this TV up and use it...

Went with the NU 7100 58" for three reasons:
1- I am impressed and please with the 40" version of that model.
2- 58" is the perfect size for where it was intended to go.
Sadly, this unit replaced a 55" Plasma also made by Samsung which was a mistake! Yes, for 4K content, the 58" NU 7100 does shine! All else is disappointing. I regrets donating my old Plasma!!!
3- Price: for $700 was a "bargain" I thought!
WRONG.
For the quality in display I had come to expect from the Plasma TV which I did pay over $1,500 way back when, I should of not expect a 4K TV 'worth' $700 could be a fair replacement. I really needed to up the budget and be willing to start at least on the $1,500 if the BETTER technological TV's are made in 58". An OLED or the 8 series or better, off course these guys are more than the $700 I paid for the NU7100.
I did get what I paid for!
Just was a bad judgement call on my part to even dare think just because the NU7100 is in 4K format, it could deliver what the Ole Plasma got me a-costumed.
Issues? Gaming. 4K content looks cheap CGI.

A classic movie...

On this one, I was disappointed with video clarity on a 4K display. Sound was alright, but I would NOT recommend this 4K version as regular 1080 P version on BD is far superior video quality. Sound effects were alright, yet, over all desapointing on 4K.

Only @ Best BuyEasily switch between up to 4 HDMI source components with this HDMI switch that supports 1080p and 3D video for high-definition entertainment and 7.1 surround sound for impressive audio.

Current tv is on component. No hdmi cable available. Want to get new tv. Need adapter so it can be hooked up via component. Is there such a thing?

The HDMI "Switch-Box" will not help you!
Let me see if I understand your intent:
You have a content source like a VHS or older technology that lacks HDMI connectivity, AND you wish to upgrade your TV while keep your original content source...
I have kept all source content equipment since as far back as Laser Disc from late 70's early 80's... I think I can relate...
In Today's technology, I have two 4K Samsung NU7100. One in 40" the other 58".
These TV's come with connectors adapters: one is light blue with two female RCA purple/blue & red in one, a yellow three female RCA red & white + green/yellow in the second. These two adapters go on the back of the TV's on seemingly 3.5mm jacks or the ones that look like headphone jacks. They are color coded, can not screw it up if one tries...
TV has settings to activate the functionality on these adapters...

I have a projector with 2 hdmi ports, I tried using a fire stick in one port then surround system in the other but the surround system won’t play. Would I be able to plug both the fire stick and the surround sound into this and use my projector as I want?

If I am understanding you well...
You have in a way, two source content to be connected to your projector?
This "Switch-Box" allows you to connect up to 4 source content to any HDMI display or likes. One at a time!
Perhaps we can start with the original content source connected to your surround system if it supports -Pass-Through- then onwards to your projector? In which case, you would not 'need' this "Switch-Box".
For what you wish to accomplish, seems a signal splitter or "Y" adapter, if is made for HDMI, is what you may need.

i have a Samsung TV this is not a smart TV i got the Roku express, i need more ports to hook up me DVD,Roku, and TV i hooked up every thing by the directions and nothing TV shows on the screen no signal, i have the Rockfish RF-g1185 still no results

Likely due to the selection on the TV for source...
The "Switch-Box" is powered, needs to be plug in to a wall electrical outlet. Then, there is an ON/OFF button in the front towards the right on the face plate that needs to be turned on either manually by holding it till the unit comes alive, which takes a bit longer than one would expect, same to power it down...) there is a remote control I choose not to use because us frustrating to me...

Is the remote IR of RF?

Wireless,
In line of sight!
Best to manually 'touch' the numbered buttons to activate the desired content source...
I have found that "remote control" to be Useless, frustrating, and a total waste of good packing space in the original box.
But this IS my learned opinion.

I have a laptop with one HDMI output. Can I use this device to send a signal to two different monitors at the same time, that way I can have different programs on each screen?

No!

Set up your home entertainment system exactly as you want it with this Insignia HDMI cable. The long 50-foot cable lets you create an entire home theater experience, and an in-wall rating makes it an ideal option for home remodels. This Insignia HDMI cable is compatible with everything from standard HDMI to 4K.

Why is this cable one-way? The one I picked up in the store indicates labels for how to install it. Is there unlisted festures for this requirement? Thanks

Insignia 4K HDMI 6' cables I have ( had bought four (4) boxed sets of 2 cables in each box)...
If these cables are the ones you are referring too, and are having "issues" with them:
1- the content source name brands connected to your TV/Monitor might be of different -brands- & technologies time frame. These Cables DO perform well for me using different name brands and time/technology because the old content source I am using still are too dumb to be intimidated by latest technology and name brand recognition...
2- Name Brand recognition amongst the content source and Display Technology compatability is a sad reality!
3- it is possible your cables are defectives and you may need to exchange/replace them.
Two way communication and rich 4K content transfer at reasonably price is what I have experienced with 8 of these 4K GDMI 6' cables.
