Hold on to your life jacket as the rip-roaring sequel to Speed hits the high seas. OSCAR~ Winner Sandra Bullock* reprises her star-making role as Annie Porter, a young woman expecting to enjoy a Caribbean vacation with her boyfriend (Jason Patric) on board the world's most luxurious cruise liner. But their trip to paradise turns deadly when a lunatic computer genius (Willem Dafoe) takes over the boat and sets it on a course for destruction. An explosive voyage helmed by daredevil director Jan de Bont (Speed, Twister), Speed 2 Cruise Control rides the wild waves at maximum velocity.

Ron Underwood's gorilla movie comes to DVD with a widescreen transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 1.85:1. A closed-captioned English soundtrack is rendered in Dolby Digital 5.1. There are no subtitles accessible on this release. Supplemental materials include a theatrical trailer and a production featurette. This family themed film underwhelmed at the box office and this DVD does little to change its fate in the home video market.

Crimson Tide, Tony Scott's claustrophobic tale of mutiny on a submarine, comes to DVD with a widescreen transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 2.35:1. A closed-captioned English soundtrack is rendered in Dolby Digital 5.1, while a French soundtrack has been recorded in Dolby Digital Stereo. Spanish subtitles are accessible. The sound and picture quality is quite good, which is a very good thing considering the lack of supplemental materials. This disc will please fans of the film, but it does not offer anything of interest to anyone else.
