Very impressed with this Chromebook. This is a rocket ship compared to the old 11.5" Asus Chromebook I had previously. Bright, crisp HD graphics, fast performance with its upgraded 13th Gen i5 Intel CPU and fast SSD makes this thing sing. Love the Gorilla Glass screen, makes for nice super smooth scrolling on the responsive touch-screen. The games I've played so far run buttery smooth. Also love the back-lit keyboard for when I'm using it in low-light conditions. For a smaller Chromebook like this, the upgraded DTS audio sounds great. And the fact it came with its own nice padded sleeve is just icing on the cake. Yes, this Acer Chromebook is more expensive then most other 14" Chromebooks but with all its features I found it to be easily worth every penny. Nice work Acer!

I have a nice Thrustmaster T300RS force feedback wheel and I am "forced" to use the DualSense controller to access game options, can't do it with the wheel, square button for options is not supported. Also, the O button becomes the X button on the wheel, very annoying.
The steering was too sensitive at first but adjusting the steering linearity in the control options fixed that problem nicely.
I haven't bothered with the career mode yet, just want to jump in and race. Luckily after the adjustments I made, the racing and handling on all surfaces is spot on and a ton of fun.

This is one impressive sounding Bluetooth speaker for its size. I preferred the sound of this XG300 over similar sized speakers from JBL, Bose, Marshall, etc. Nice deep bass and crisp mids and highs give this speaker a impressively rich sound. It has outstanding battery life and I love the fact that it can even charge other devices, such as my portable audio player or phone.
The only negative thing I can say about this speaker is it's pretty heavy, probably due to it having a larger built-in battery than most other speakers this size. I don't feel this is a big problem because you usually put speakers like this down and leave them in place for hours at a time and I found a custom case for it on Amazon with a shoulder strap which is perfect for when you need to grab it and go. To me the weight is absolutely worth it for the extended battery life it provides. Nice work Sony!

As to be expected with these F1 games, another good but incremental update. Slightly better graphics, slightly better physics, and a different but not necessarily better story mode and career modes. The menu system as it is now is more convoluted to find what want you want, like just picking a track and racing on it for example. It took several attempts to find out where that option was buried in the menus when previous games it was much easier to find.

Nice size for travel. It has taken me some time to adjust to differences in it and a Windows laptop. I'm not happy that there is no 'Delete' button. Also, I can't seem to get a larger font for typing things like this or in boxes on other sites. Overall, I like it.

I also didn't like the fact that the keyboard didn't have a delete key on it but I looked up the keyboard shortcuts for this Chromebook and found out that if you hold down the Alt key when pressing the Backspace key it will then delete characters to the right of the cursor, working just like a normal delete key. Very handy!

This receiver is good for video, but doesn't deserve the hype it's received. I bought this on my 4k 120Hz Home Theater update and am pretty disappointed. My setup is now: LG C2 77, NR7100 in 5.1.2 configuration, Paradigm front speakers, Yamaha center and surround speakers (until I find some I like more), and Onkyo front Atmos speakers (all with 12 guage wire), PS5, XSX, Switch OLED, VR & Home Theater PC with RTX 2070 (to be updated to 30/40 series later this year). Cables are all certified HDMI 2.1 cables from Cable Matters and Infinite Cables - all support full features and tested at 48Gbps bandwidth.
The good: Excellent video passthrough and build quality, clean design, great GUI, lots of inputs and dual outputs. I also appreciate the front input as I like to hook up other things at random and this way I don't need to get behind the receiver for a simple/short-term add-on.
The bad: (1) I had trouble with getting all the features of my Xbox Series X and PS5 out of the box. By default, all inputs and outputs are set to "4k enhanced" and this limits available features. In order to use VRR/ALM/4k@120Hz you need to adjust the inputs you're using AND the output to the TV to "8k enhanced." (2) You can dim the front display, but you can't turn it off completely or have it turn off after a set timeout period. This kind of ruins the immersion when watching dark movies in a dark room. (3) I would have appreciated a cleaner front design and a cover for front I/O). (4) THE FAN is ALWAYS going. It's loud. It's scratchy. It's ANNOYING and I can hear it whenever the receiver is off - my WFH setup is 15ft away from my HT setup and I can hear it all the time while working at my desk. They used a crappy PC-style fan. IF I keep this, I will swap the fan with a silent Noctua fan instead.
The ugly: Here's my one major gripe and it's a doozy. Sound is hollow and low. I'm coming from a MUCH lower powered receiver, the Marantz NR-696, and somehow this is not only QUIETER (lower at the same levels and much lower maximum volume), but the sound is lacking/hollow. I'll be re-evaluating after making some config changes, but, as much as this receiver cost, I'm really disappointed and will likely be returning it.
Final Thoughts: There should have been more though put into the pre-configured settings of this receiver. Having to modify the input and output bandwidth was a big headache and caused me a lot of frustration.

Annoying fan noise...

You mentioned the annoying fan noise and I'm confused when you say that you hear it when the unit is powered off. Normally if a receiver has a fan, it is not running when the receiver is off or on standby so I just wanted to be clear, you are saying that the fan is ALWAYS running? Even when the receiver is off or on standby? Just makes no sense to me why they would have the fan running if the unit was off or on standby and not generating any heat. Thanks

One more very handy feature I forgot to mention: Love the fact that this Chromebook has TWO Thunderbolt 4 compatible USB-C ports, ONE ON EACH SIDE. So whichever side is most convenient for you for charging, etc., you are good to go! Very handy and thoughtful feature.

No, the controller does not come with a cable. Yes, you can buy a USB-C cable you would need to charge/connect the controller from Best Buy or any store that sells USB cables.

From what I have been able to find out, it looks like the single-player adventure mode has 4 players in a race (you and 3 computer controller characters), online multiplayer supports up to 8 players and local split-screen supports up to 4 players.

Do you have to be online to play the career mode?
You need to be connected to XBox Live to get to the career mode section of the game unfortunately. And to be on XBox Live you obviously need to be online.
I pulled the network cable and booted up the console to see what would happen and when I fired up the game it would only let me access the "Free Play" part of the game, which does have some championships and time trials so you can still do a fair amount of racing, but the career section is disabled. It was also trying to log me into RaceNet but I never created an account and always skipped the login because I don't care about it. So you can be online but not logged into RaceNet and still have access to the full game.
I pulled the network cable and booted up the console to see what would happen and when I fired up the game it would only let me access the "Free Play" part of the game, which does have some championships and time trials so you can still do a fair amount of racing, but the career section is disabled. It was also trying to log me into RaceNet but I never created an account and always skipped the login because I don't care about it. So you can be online but not logged into RaceNet and still have access to the full game.
