Worst camera system ever picks up rabbits, cats, blowing leaves, and the microphone doesn't work for crap. It's either too sensitive or not sensitive enough and if you don't have this subscription plan you can't delete files all at once you have to go through each file and delete it individually if it's on the USB.

Yes but not for the game itself. You can play the game against computer AI i believe but The game is an online multiplayer game mainly and you have to have an nintendo online membership to play any online games with other players. It might be saying it because its needing to have live gold to be able to download the online content as well.
