Before we ever dreamed about getting one last album from A Tribe Called Quest we got Q-Tip's third proper solo album that lived up to the musical legacy he had already established with his legendary group. An album many years in the making, The Renaissance fits in comfortably with the best of the Tribe albums, even better than some of them. That sounds like a tall order but I firmly believe it and I highly recommend this if you've never heard it.
