Unbelievable Quality

Big fan of this movie and the original (which also looks Great in 4K). I saw the movie in theaters, but unlike most other reviews, I've only owned on 4K and can't compare to regular HD / Blu-Ray. The 4K looks amazing- fantastic. I feel the HDR makes viewing this at home on 4K tv much better than in the theater. Although I was unable to see this in Imax and really wish I had. I've read that was the ultimate presentation of this movie.

Who will save the Earth after huge alien spacecraft demolish the Empire State Building, the White House, downtown Los Angeles, and most of the world's major cities? How about a brave Marine pilot (Will Smith), a brilliant cable TV technician (Jeff Goldblum), and the U.S. president (Bill Pullman), who must all work together to coordinate a daring offensive to stop the invasion on the 4th of July? The smash-hit mixture of sci-fi thrills and disaster movie dramatics also stars Robert Loggia, Margaret Colin, Vivica A. Fox, and Randy Quaid. 145 min. Widescreen; Soundtracks English Dolby Digital 5.1, Spanish Dolby Digital Surround, French Dolby Digital Surround; Subtitles English, Spanish; audio commentary. Two-disc set.

4K Looks Great

The 4K Version of this movie looks really good, very detailed. Worth the upgrade from my original blu-ray. I've read the re-released 20th anniversary blu-ray looks really good too though. So it seems the 20th anniversary edition is a good buy regardless of HD/UHD- but if you've got 4K TV go with the 4K disc.
However, once again with Fox Studios, if you own digital HD they won't give you a digital UHD. That part is garbage. Other studios upgrade your digital copy. Not Fox. Hoping Disney will change this after they buy them out.

Loved the movie. Watched it in theaters. Kind of wish they'd done the other Wolverines or at least more with an R rating. 4K version was my first purchase of this movie (didn't own on blu ray) so nothing to compare it to- but the picture quality and audio are fantastic. Worth it.

Great Movie. 4K Slightly Off

Loved the movie- saw it in theaters. Loved watching blu-ray on 1080p TV. The 4K version, for the most part, is really fantastic, however some of the CGI stuff looks gimmicky. Especially flames.

4K is Debatable

I'm not completely sold on this 4K version. It just doesn't have the feel of the original movie. Skin looks "sleek," there's some weird coloring, the Terminator POVs have been upgraded. It's almost like watching a different version / cut. But it's also not bad, just different. Blu-Ray wasn't that great either so... I don't know. My Blu-Ray disc was scratched and skipped/froze a lot so it was worth it to have on disc again I guess. Also was super cheap on Black Friday.

This movie rocked on my 4K TV. Really noticed an improvement in his suit. HDR looks great, better shadows. I already had the Best Buy exclusive steelbook for the regular blu ray and just swapped out the discs.

Must have watched this movie a hundred times as a kid. Still holds up as an adult. Very impressed with the 4K upgrade. Seems to be hit and miss. I have some 4Ks that look better on regular 1080p Blu-Ray. Not the case here. 4K version looks great on 4K TV.

Very good sci-fi flick. The quality of the 4K was noticeably better than the regular HD. This was an upgrade for me from just digital HD to 4K disc+digital.

Good Movie, Good Quality

I saw the movie in theaters- not the best Spider-Man, but better than the last two. I think it looks better in 4K on my 4K TV than it did in theaters. I already owned this in 4K digital and just wanted the disc (Comcast is only fast internet provider in my area and now that they're rationing bandwidth and charging extra for going over I have to watch it on my 4K streaming- hence my return to purchasing physical discs). Got it cheap on Black Friday. Good buy.

Great Movie - Fox Not So Much

Loved the book. Loved the movie. Looks fantastic on 4K. Originally owned the digital HD version. Also wanted it on disc and upgraded to 4K. Fox Studios' 4K movies come with a digital copy, but they won't upgrade your digital movie to the 4K version like most every other studio I've done this with (upgrade to 4K even though I already own the 1080 hd). Even though the 4K digital versions are available for sale. Hopefully once Disney buys them this policy will change. I'm hanging on to the digital codes just in case.

Experience smooth streaming of 500,000+ movies and TV shows with the Roku Ultra media player. It supports 4K formats for crisp, immersive pictures, and it has a remote finder button for locating the missing controller. The Roku Ultra media player has a night listening mode that automatically lowers louder moments and amplifies quieter ones for ideal late-night viewing.

Will this device get TED TALKS and Netflix? If not what is the cheapest one that will?

I am purchasing a Roku Ultra. From you so I assume I’ll need a cable to hook the unit up to my older TV I believe it’s a HIME Cable (sp) to finish the install. What accessories are absolutely needed for a no problem install?

You'll need an HDMI cable. I know 4K blu-ray players need a 4K-rated HDMI cable (HDMI 2.0). The Ultra streams 4K, but don't know if HDMI needs to be 4K. Would think so. Prices on cables are low enough that you might as well get the 4K-rated one anyway. Most are probably already rated for it.

I just purchased Ultra Streaming Media Player to get TED TALKS and there is no T TALKS icon showing on the outside of the box. How do I know it will play TED TALKS? You have said it does but how do I know? What is a cheaper device to do that?

I have a roku 2 older model in my bedroom, it works excellent. I bought a roku express for the living room and it does not work well, sometimes it does not work at all, do I need a diferent roku is there a stronger one LR is about 35 ft from a arris route

The Ultra supports WIreless 802.11ac while the Express only offers 802.11b/g/n - so theoretically, yes, the Ultra would offer better connection speeds. However, it also depends on the speed of your internet and whether your router supports Wireless AC. I've also heard of people having issues with any brand of streaming player (Fire, Apple, etc.) on older TVs in general - I think in these cases it might be an HDMI issue (perhaps faulty) - where the video is reaching the streaming player quickly without issue, but the TV is having an issue processing it at the HDMI port. All of my older 1080p TVs have had issues with HDMI ports over the years. Usually going out completely after power surges.

I have a Roku Express on a TV that is not a smartTV. I also have a smartTV, but prefer the Roku on that TV. What advantages over the Express can the Ultra Streaming Media Player offer me? I am not interested in recording streamed shows.

I went with the Roku Ultra earlier this year as my first Roku device because I knew I'd be upgrading to 4K. I ended up with a Roku 4K TV (TCL) so it didn't really matter, but I still like the Roku Ultra better than any of the others I have (2 x Roku TCL 4K TVs, and 2 x Roku Express) because I really like that the controller comes with a headphone jack. Those are two main points for Ultra (4K, headphone jack remote) vs. Express (none of those things). Ultra also has a media card reader that I've used to stream online courses downloaded from the internet (that didn't have a Roku app).

Enjoy precision control with this SteelSeries Stratus XL 69050 gaming controller, which features home and back buttons and analog joysticks for seamless integration with select Android and Windows systems.

Can you use for steam?

That is what I purchased this for - steam games. And it worked fine. I had to do some controller mapping, but ultimately decided to go with an Xbox 1 controller. Works with the controller-enabled steam games I tried it on, including Fallout 4 and No Man's Sky.
