NO 4k60 with m1 Mac

Currently waiting on a response from the Satechi team on why there's no 4k60 but its a bit disappointing to spend this much on a device and have no 4k 60. Besides the refresh rate, Excellent product, great form factor and Temps been very LOW. I dropped anker hubs due to warmer temps on idle usages. Their team mention its normal for temps to be warmer then usual when plugged in. I also got the same response from Satechi tech support on the matter. if it runs warm for you, should be fine still.

Excellent laptop for the price. BUT expect to be fluster with the tint yellow panels screen. I had to invest in a color calibrator to adjust the panel color. Panel is only 89% srgb accurate, odd that there's a Pantone color certified label on this. Love the profile on this laptop, with all the I/O, Perfect! My only gripe with this is, again the panel and wish it had a some sort of Auto feat with the fan. I would have to manually choose fan curves depending on what I was doing to keep fan noise down.

THE BEST WINDOWS LAPTOP HANDS DOWN-EVER! I have to say besides the XPS laptop that could've won be over this one. THIS is by far the best laptop I've ever own. From keyboard/touchscreen/build quality/ sound quality (2nd to MACs) and a USB A port. Look no where else if you want a premium flagship Windows PC. Coming from an A6500, getting my shot has improved twice as fast with dedicated knobs and buttons on this camera. Sure its heavy but having a focus joy stick def make it worth the jump. first few weeks I was super annoyed by the wait due to having always owned APSC cameras. In a position to try out a full frame and Im glad the a7III was my first full frame. here goes burning a hole in my wallet buying Full Frame lens.

As much I enjoyed using my MacBook Air M1, the lack of ports can be a bummer sometimes. With just 2 ports it doesn’t take much to utilize both for charging and displaying to an external monitor. It’s an inconvenience having to unplug one of them to connect my external drive or USB receiver for my keyboard and mouse. The Satechi USB C on the go multiport adapter is the solution to my port problems.
A quick rundown of the specs:
1x HDMI port supports up to 4K 60hz
1x VGA port supports up to 1080P
1x USB C Port with PD charging up to 100W (15W is used to power the adapter)
1x Gigabit Ethernet Port
2x Full-size USB A 3 Ports for Data only
1x USB C for Data only

One of the features I like is the ability to disconnect the USB C cable and store it away within the adapter. A longer cable is included in case it’s needed. Not only do I like this for portability but for longevity too. With multi-port adapters that have the cable attached you end up being at the mercy of the cable. When the cable goes out you end up with a paper-weight adapter. Having the flexibility of using the short or long cable is a big plus for me since depending on where I’m stationed, there are times a longer cable would have been handy.
I had no issues using the adapter with my MacBook Air M1 to connect my external 24inch monitor (1080p @ 165hz support too), USB receiver for my MX Keyboard and Mouse, external drive while it was charging my device at full speed. The same setup also worked on my Windows laptop. I was able to confirm that it worked with my iPad Mini 6 and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra and Tab S7+ with Dex Support. Now the adapter did get slightly warm but nothing to the point of concern when it was charging my devices like the MacBook and Windows laptop.
One of the features I wasn’t able to test was the VGA port. To be honest I’m still trying to find a reason that would be needed to be used now that most of the displays out there have transitioned over to HDMI and DVI out. Instead of a VGA port, I would of prefer to have seen another HDMI port to drive 2 monitors or a headphone jack.
Overall I was very satisfied with the Satechi adapter. It has a high-end look to it that looks like it was made from Apple itself. The color almost matches my Space Gray MacBook. It also comes in slightly cheaper compared to other multi-port adapters around this price range.

Are you running Monterey? I'm unable to get 4k60, even bought another one to see if its defective per Satechi recommendation. Both units are locked at 4k30. Any help would be appreciated. 2020 m1 mbp.
