Much better than Microsoft Block

I purchased this for connecting my two monitors to my new Microsoft Surface Book 2. I did NOT use my Microsoft USB Charging HUB which Microsoft sold as the only option for multimonitors 3 years ago when I purchased my first MSB. Turns out the Microsoft Hub constantly charges the battery and that caused by last MSB battery to swell and destroy the touch screen. It was a known problem, so I went with this J5 non-powered. It connected perfectly first time.

This is my second Surface Book. The first was purchased just over 3 years ago when they first came out. The battery recently swelled and pushed out the screen. Took it to Microsoft Store and they said it was not covered by Microsoft even though they acknowledged this was a common problem with the first generation Surface Book. I really loved the versatility of this computer so I bit the bullet and bought a new second generation model. this newer model has split the large single battery behind the screen into two smaller ones - one behind screen and second in the keyboard. For the price, I expected much more from Microsoft regarding repair or credit after only 3 years.
