Pretty decent overall

Chris Pratt steals the show as usual, but if you like Western flicks you will probably enjoy it. Decent acting and the story is ok. It’s worth a watch if you like Pratt or westerns.

A Super-Secret Organization recruits an unrefined but promising street kid into the agency's ultra-competitive training program just as a dire global threat emerges from a twisted tech genius. A phenomenal cast, including Academy Award Winners Colin Firth and Michael Caine and Oscar Nominee Samuel L. Jackson, leads this action-packed spy-thriller directed by Matthew Vaughn (X-Men First Class).

A fantastic Effort

I enjoyed this film, but I also don’t normally care much for the Fantastic Four characters. It’s a unique take on the story and it’s not revolutionary by any means, but the effort is there and I liked the characters. It kept me interested, but it wasn’t so much a Fantastic 4 movie as it was just an engaging Science Fiction Film. The young actors were pretty good in this one. A good child actor is impressive and most of the acting was decent. I enjoyed it overall. Dry in places and bland in other places. Something was missing, but it’s not as bad as people said it was.

This one isn’t going to win any awesome awards and it has problems with delivery in places, but it delivers what the trailer promises. It’s a summer action/horror vibe. Popcorn flick.

This movie has an interesting plot and it is important to see a man standing up for his beliefs and doing what is fair. I enjoyed this movie and it kept my interest throughout. The story is powerful and cool!

A fun and quirky space adventure

I love this movie and how ridiculous it is. Tim Allen is good in this and he entertains. There are acting moments that feel silly or forced, not always intentionally moments for style. The aliens are endearing and I enjoy the story. It’s a show within a show, but it’s fun and very rewatchable.

Suspense and intensity

As with most television the acting could be more natural and unnoticed in places, but the overall show is impressive in the scale and spectacular effects. It’s full of unlikely moments and characters you love to hate. Not bad at all and good for background rewatching as I multitask. It kept my interest and it looks like it’s bigger in scale than it is. Pretty decent.

I like performances in this movie and it is unique and fun. Heath Ledger is fantastically likable and fun. His friends are also likeable. Since this is older I will say that the Knight chooses the wrong woman, but you can decide that for yourself. It’s unique and fun, but you have to go into this one without taking anything seriously. I also like the idea of judging people for the heart and seeing value not based on superficial things. It was fun and entertaining throughout.

Many family films have received short shrift when brought out on DVD, so it's nice to see that Columbia TriStar has treated The Indian in the Cupboard so respectfully. Not only do they provide a spotless digital transfer of the thoughtful movie but they've even thrown in a couple of extras that will interest older fans of the children's film. A clean widescreen anamorphic transfer is on one side of the disc and it really shows off Russell Carpenter's warm camera work. The pan and scan version of the film is on the other side of the DVD but there really isn't any compelling reason to watch it other than to see how much of the image is actually cut off of the screen. The Dolby Digital 2.0 Surround sound audio track is bright and well balanced and it also sounds fine if played through a television set instead of a stereo system. The DVD comes with a few extras but the real winner is director Frank Oz's audio commentary. This was a challenging film to make and Oz guides you through the entire production. It really is to Oz's credit that he had the team work so hard to make seamless special effects that don't distract from what is really a rather intimate story. Oz handles the moral of the picture delicately and it contains a message that many adults could still learn from.

It is rare to find a great child actor and sadly it didn’t happen for this film. I liked the book, but the movie could have been a lot better. Most of the cast was pretty bland or blah in their delivery in this film. It’s the only version we have available, but it could be much better overall. Just ok. It’s annoying in some places and the young characters are mostly obnoxious. You don’t really have any good reason to like any of the characters very much, because everyone is obnoxious in this film.
