Wargroove is one the spiritual successors of the Nintendo "Wars" series of games that Intelligent Systems has not worked on since 2008 with Advance Wars Days of Ruin.
It is mostly a Wars-type game with many unique elements borrowed from Fire Emblem, Langrisser, and other turn-based strategy games of the genre while introducing some of its own to keep it fresh such as property fortifications. In Wars, you had to have units on the property to defend it to prevent it from capture. In this game, the properties have their own defenses that the enemy has to defeat before it could be captured, which is one of the key standouts from the others.
The gameplay is outstanding. The campaign allows you to play as the antagonists inside chapters for where it is applicable to the story. The characters have their own strengths and weaknesses for those who have played any "Wars" game where COs are present.

I noticed the updated graphics and smoothness right from the start. With the remastered graphics, dynamic depth of field, screen-space reflections, and new water / snow shaders you get a totally fresh feel to it and you do not notice that it was a game that was written years ago. I feel that the story is in no need to review with all the awards and achievements the original game has received. You will have all the open-world RPG goodness that the original game had along with all the DLC (Dawnguard, Hearthfire and Dragonborn) plus mods! Yes, mods! As of writing this, xBox One currently has 125 mods that are ready to use. Ranging from adding a few tables and chairs in different inns to allow extra seating, no health regeneration or even realistic carrying weight.

An excellent modern remake of 16 bit classics. A big highlight though is to know what you're buying.
A lot of other reviews here seem to be complaining they thought it had the SNES Aladdin, but it has the Genesis version. Seeing as how the Genesis is the definitive version for this game, and that even the original developers for the SNES version preferred it to their own (SNES has no sword), I think that's a fair choice to include.
Other reviews don't seem to like the scaling options, complaining they look pixilated. They're originally 240p content from 16 bit consoles, of course they are pixilated. That's kind of the point.... That being said, the game does offer a nice variety of scaling options, and borders that can be turned on or off.
This is an excellent collection, so long as you know what you're actually buying.

I can’t really give it more of a ringing endorsement than saying this: it has the potential to be the definitive online multiplayer experience of 2019, and that’s coming from someone who plays Tetris 99 every single day. Bleeding Edge on Xbox One is just pure fun. It’s a tight, fast thrill-ride that keeps me playing which, as someone who predominantly plays single-player, is not easy to do.
