Residue remains on dark clothes

Ayear and a half in and I would not buy this again. Consistently leaves white soap or hard water residue on dark clothing. Have tried changing from powder to liquid detergent, changed to deep water cycle every time, more soap, less soap. Does not matter, Almost always end up having to run dark clothes thru a water only cycle with just 2 or 3 piece after washing with the rest of the full load.

Plugged one of these into an outlet to set it up. Setting it up was a bit of a hassle as the app gave problems. But I finally did. The outlet I used was not the final destination. I unplugged it and put it on the dresser til I was able to get behind the bed and plug it into its intended outlet.
Tried setting the 2nd one up. App directed me to disconnect from my wifif and connect directly to the device's wifi, then come back to app to complete setup. Successfully connected to device's wifi, but upon return to the app....nothing. Set up did not continue. App did not detect the device. Nothing I tried worked.
Plugged in first device that had been set up successfully...now, not detected. So far, , I'd say these are paperweights, but they're barely heavy enough for that.

I've washed a comforter several times and each time, when the cycle is done, there is a small collection of lint/dirt/pet hair sitting on top of the comforter, right in the middle, as I open the washer. Is this normal? Why doesn't this drain away?

I've read that this washer averages 22 gallons of water per load. How much extra does the Deep Water cycle add? How much extra does the extra rinse add?

Does anyone else have residue on their clothes after the wash? I've tried powder as well as liquid detergent (yes, HE). Without fail, there are always a few garments that have white stains all over them. Never had this problem before.
