Does not work well on my inexpensive laptop

I have a very old version of this software that works perfectly, so I got this one hoping it would work well - but not so much. I got it so I could download features I lost on the older version. I needed to adjust the volume on projects, and it works beautifully for that! Most everything else doesn`t work quite right - most of the time. Mind you, I am using it on an inexpensive laptop, so that might make a difference.

I got these speakers to replace the center speaker for my surround sound home theater. It works great! It is even better than my original - which I dropped one too many times on the floor.
