Great piece of cinema about a war almost forgotten

First off; great cinematography!!!
1917 is about two World War I soldiers who are given a mission to travel across enemy territory. You just know it is going to be tense from that!
The movie has a dreamlike feel because the characters are taken from one unpredictable situation to another.
Visually it has an excellent style. It was shot to give the illusion of one complete tracking shot beginning to end. Every moment the camera is following the characters from one peril to another.
The scenery in the movie is amazing. The characters travel through a constantly changing landscape; trenches to abandoned farms, etc. Even the worse environments look great. The night scene is one of the best images of the movie. Get your drinks and snacks handy, because you're not going to want to leave in the middle.

Replaced an aging MS-IntelliMouse

I bought this mouse on a Daily Deal at 50% off. This is normally expensive for a mouse, but with the discount it was worth checking out. I have a very old Microsoft IntelliMouse that still works. But, because it is white, it looks worn. So I was ready to try this.
This mouse is perfect as far as how it fits in my hand and how comfortable it is to use for long periods of time. It also tracks very well and on any surface. This mouse is everything I wanted it to be. I have tried other Microsoft mice over the years, but they either weren't comfortable or didn't last long. I'm hoping Microsoft finally has a better manufacturer and this one lasts.
Size - The size is perfect for me because I have larger hands. If you're used to your basic workstation mouse that's provided by your company, this one is going to be a little fatter and your hand will rest on top of it a little more.
Buttons - Feel and sound of the buttons are perfectly clickable. Aside from the normal two buttons, I do not use the middle mouse button. The two forward/back mouse buttons by the thumb are positioned well and work nicely.
If you buy this, you won't be disappointed.

I purchased this item for a Garmin Drive Smart 65 LMT-S. This item provides lifetime traffic data without needing to connect to a smartphone via Bluetooth. When using this cable, it sends HD traffic data (where available) to any compatible Garmin GPS that is connected. When HD Traffic is not available, it sends the regular traffic data to the GPS. There are no service fees and it works for the lifetime of your GPS. I have not had any problems with it. But, you must note, not all areas have traffic data available, especially small towns in the midwest and west. I highly recommend this cable if it is compatible with your Garmin GPS device. It is great on long trips and doesn't tie up your phone. I liked it so much, I bought one for my parents to use with their Garmin GPS.

I've used Webroot Internet Security Complete for over 15 years. It is the lightest and fastest Internet security software on the market today. I've tried Norton and McAfee, but Webroot is still the best (IMO). It's interface is easy to use and simple to navigate. I always look for it to go on-sale 2-3 months before my existing license is up and just add the new Key Code on the day it expires. It has some very useful features; Backup & Sync (with 15 GB online storage), Password Manager and a System Analyzer & Optimizer. I also have the Android Apps installed on my Phone and Tablet.

I purchased the DriveSmart 65 after wanting a standalone GPS instead of using my cellphone. I had used a very old Garmin Nuvi and this is night and day different. A cellphone navigation is great for emergencies, but can sometimes be more difficult to use; 1) Cannot see the navigation apps when using the phone for a phone call and 2) Lack of navigation when no cellular coverage. Additionally, downloading the offline maps don't provide the latest in traffic, accidents, and road construction. You also have to constantly update them to make sure you have the latest maps. A standalone GPS just gives you an larger size screen which is much easier to use while driving thus keeping your eyes on the road better.
I chose the Garmin DriveSmart 65 because it was currently the best one on the market and Garmin is the leader in GPS. I had a Garmin Nuvi from 12 years ago and never had a problem with it. Garmin now comes with lifetime maps and traffic on most of their devices. The larger screen was also a huge benefit. The device delivers great speed and performance as expected from Garmin. Accurate navigation and very good route planning. Screen is excellent, bright and high resolution for a navigator. Price is a lot more than the lower end Garmins, but if you drive a lot, it is well worth the price. Especially if you factor the annual cost over it's estimated life of 5-10 years.

WW2 movie about a Hero and Conscientious Objector.

This movie is about conscientious objector Desmond Doss. It is an excellent movie along the lines of Saving Private Ryan. It shows Desmond home life and how he became a conscientious objector, yet still risked his life as a WWII Combat Medic. He was abused by his father and the other men in his platoon. He earned their respect and a Congressional Medal of Honor when he intentionally stayed behind enemy lines over night as the rest of the men retreated. During the night he rescued 75 men by carrying them through enemy territory down an escarpment. The accurate portrayal of the events and the excellent acting and cast make this a 5-star movie. This is one of the least known stories from WWII and deserves a place in your movie library.

Classic Movie to Watch with Children/Grandchildren

This movie came out when I was 25. It is one of Steven Spielberg's movies in which he came up with the story. I have been a big fan of this movie and have owned the VHS, DVD and now the BluRay & Digital HD version. I primarily bought this for the Digital HD copy. The translation to BluRay is good considering the original was shot in 1984-5.
The story line is simple; a small town in Oregon coast is being displaced for construction of a golf resort by the local wealthy family. Some of the kids, who call themselves Goonies (i.e., misfits), follow a treasure map to locate the treasure and save the town. The kids are young stars just starting out and was perfectly cast and acted.
I have watched this movie with my daughter many times and will hopefully watch it with my grandchildren. I'm not a fan of the Steelbooks, but for the price I can't complain. It does have some nice extras (commentary with the cast). So, this is well worth the cost and will make a great present for kids of any age.

I've used Webroot Internet Security Complete for over 10 years. You can save a lot of money by buying a new licence on BestBuy when it is on sale versus renewing through Webroot. It is just a few extra steps.
If you buy on BestBuy, wait until your current license expires.
It will not extend your current subscription and you will lose any time remaining. After it expires, add the new Key Code to your Webroot Console and then to each of your devices. Done!

I was a die-hard Norton user until it started affecting my system's speed. I also tried McAfee for a couple years, but had the same problem as Norton. There are a lot of processes running with McAfee and it slows down your system. However, Webroot is small and runs very fast. I've not had any problems with viruses and only a few instances of false-positives. When I've encountered a false-positive, I report it and it is resolved within a few days. It was bought by Carbonite earlier this year, so time will tell if that stays true.

I have been a Webroot Internet Security user for a long time. It's a great product; easy to install, setup and use. Being able to install this on 5 devices, I have this on my desktop, laptop, phone, and tablet. It does not slow your device down or hog resources. It is always updated as well, since everything is via the cloud.
Beware, Webroot charges full price to auto-renew. It's cheaper to purchase on sale locally and enter your new product key code when it expires.

These Philips Norelco blades SH50/52 replace the HQ8 blades. However, they are more expensive and appear to be exactly the same. Yet, I don't think they perform any better and didn't cut as well as the old blades even brand new. I would try to find the old Philips Norelco HQ8 blades first.

I have a DriveSmart 65 & Traffic. Will using a GTM 60 receiver be better or worse than using the Garmin app on my iPhone?
I have the Garmin DriveSmart 65 and use the GTM 60. I can't say if the traffic data is better (more up to date or better reception). I didn't want to use my phone with the Garmin for traffic data because of the battery drain and data usage. The GTM 60 hasn't given me any problems or bad information. I think it would depend on what area you are driving in and how much traffic there is.
