As usual, did my research with “Consumer Report” who gave this unit a very nice review. One of the best they said. I should have listened to SEVERAL Best Buy purchasers of this unit, who said it was “ineffective.”
After owning and running constantly (in a small bedroom) for three weeks, I am extremely disappointed with this air filter. This was Honeywell’s largest unit. I almost “overbought” but I wanted to clear out dust and pollen. It did NEITHER ! I had relatively high expectations of a “HEPA-style” filter. What I bought has not cleared any dust issues. I re-dusted and cleaned ALL bedroom surfaces (fresh start, right?). Dust re-appeared within 48 hours. Air did not feel fresh. Probably was NOT fresh.
“BUYER REMORSE” Big Time.
Again, I live by “Give people and items the benefit of the doubt.” This product fails. If it cannot filter relatively easy dust, it will never be able to clear out pollen and allergens.

If you enjoyed/appreciated the original as a kid or as an adult, I think you will appreciate this “Return of” MP. It is NOT a re-do, but a continuance, years later. Nobody truly can replace Dick VanDyck or Julie Andrews, BUT this modern continuance surpasses with modern camera work...made EVEN BETTER with 4K/hdr.
If you can get past new actors and not having quite the very classic songs we all remember from our youth, this is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Really enjoyed ‘1917’ in my home theater as much as on the big screen. It was a 2.5 hour movie and I could stop at my leisure from home !
This 4K version brought out every detail, though it was not a “popping colorful” movie- muted war scenes. The cinematography was truly fantastic though, including night scenes.
“Constant filming” was a first for me...the camera NEVER left the characters for a second.
A lot of great war movies out there. Not many WWI films.
Highly recommended.

Great movie from a historical AND cinematic point

Saw this movie on the “big screen” at the theater and enjoyed it. Nevertheless, the 4K version at home really looked great with the improved contrast, deep blacks and nice surround sound !
This is actually a gray/cloudy movie with certain scenes such as the air battles being bathed in glorious color. I viewed both the 2K (1080p) version and the 4K version in back-to-back evenings. Both were excellent cinematically and sound-wise, but of course 4K trumps 2K.
What an inspiring piece of history ! So glad this 2017 version was made to depict it.
Highly recommended for those that have a historical interest.

I really appreciate this outstanding deluxe coffee maker, the Bonvita Conniseur 8-cup. It looks cool sitting on my counter, is relatively compact, and does exactly as it says-makes great coffee. The brushed stainless carafe is amazing in the manner that it is cool to the touch on both bottom and sides and yet, it keeps the (non-hot plate machine) coffee very-same, hot temp for hours !

I would ALMOST give this UHD (4K) Blu-ray player a 5-star. It plays VERY smoothly, has a good menu system with options for optimum settings. I have yet to explore all the options.
I really like the Dolby Vision option with the constantly updating metadata refreshing (versus static metadata).
Panasonic did what virtually every eother DVD deck (not OPPO) does at similar price and lower- NO back-lit remote ! C’mon Panny ! I mean, for about a $450, player, you could squeeze in a $8. light!

I think that the artistic graphics and color on either the enclosed Blu-Ray OR UHD 4K Blu-ray are State of the Art jaw dropping. I thoroughly enjoyed the first 45 minutes, but for me, the plot slogged on W A Y too long and was needlessly complex. Initially cute...but found myself looking at my watch!
Recommended for eye candy demo of what your better HD or 4K tv is capable of, but plot tries too hard imho.

The Panasonic DP-UB820 is a great 4K player. It produces sharp, colorful images. The big advantage of this player is that it is one of the first 4K players to add Dolby Vision video processing.
Having a digital display of the running time on the front of this player is a great feature. No hitting the remote to find out the minute and seconds spot while you're watching!
As much as I admire this 4K player, paying $500 for it seems extreme. There are other 4K players in the market that sell for less than half of that.
If you want a 4K player loaded with features, you can't beat the Panasonic DP-UB820 player. But be prepared to pay for it!

Well “you get what you pay for” !! Go ahead and buy the $249 4K blu-Ray player then, that you have been noticing. The return bins are full of them ! No Dolby Vision...go ahead if $249 is that worth it.

I've got the Oppo 203 in my theater. This Panasonic DP-UB820 is the family room 4k player. I would have no qualms about switching them, letting either feed my 4K OLED 65" or my 4K Sony projector (and 120" screen). I don't know about you, but I'm no longer willing to buy fragile, short-lifespan electronics that struggle to get to the end of the disc without some problem. I also want a full suite of features that enable me to address special situations re: video or audio formats.
The Panasonic DP-UB820 is not as heavy as the previous king of 4K disc players, lacking the full metal chassis/case that OPPO provides. But, then, OPPO withdrew from the marketplace. With the introduction of this Panasonic DP-UB820 no one makes a better feeling or better designed player. It solved recurring problems I had with other, less expensive brands unable to negotiate those layer transitions at the movie halfway point. (Sometimes it was as simple as a fingerprint smudge in the wrong place.) This is a robust mechanism. Color is brilliant, contrast is accurate and natural, and detail is jaw dropping. If you feel a need to modify a 4k Disc's HDR to match your TVs limitations, Panasonic let's you do that, reliably and repeatedly.
The Panasonic DP-UB820 leaves you with the impression that it will run reliably for years, and that it will be supported by Panasonic if new video and audio codecs are released. This is a premium 4K/Blu-ray/DVD player that has no peer in 2018.

For as much as the Marvel Cinematic Universe has changed and defined the way superhero films are made in the last decade, it can be easy to forget that there WAS a time (back in the early 2000s) where superhero films were made by separate studios, and the concept of a shared universe was unheard of. One of the first movies to kick off the new renaissance of superhero films was Sam Rami's Spider-Man---a trilogy that I grew up with and still holds a special place in my heart. I say all of this because this new animated outing seems to have come full circle, and almost 20 years later, we finally have another self-contained Spider-Man movie that isn't connected to the MCU. Not only that, but it has the ambition to bring together a literal multi-verse of various Spider-Man incarnations, and does so seamlessly in a film that honors all the best qualities of the web-slinger that came before.
Miles Morales, an artistic, half African American/half Puerto-Rican teenager living in Brooklyn, is a huge fan of Spider-Man. Between trying to live up to the expectations of his parents, and struggling to fit in at his new boarding school, his life is turned even more upside down when he's bitten by a genetically modified spider, and gains spider-like powers. Soon after, he stumbles across a secret laboratory and their science experiments being run by the Kingpin of crime, Wilson Fisk. Their plan? To use a particle accelerator to access alternate realities. Spider-Man arrives to deactivate the machine, but in the ensuing battle, the accelerator malfunctions, and Spider-Man is tragically killed. Inspired by the hero's sacrifice, Miles begins to try and become a costumed crime fighter himself.....and soon runs into a very much alive Spider-Man. But not the one that died. Turns out, when the accelerator malfunctioned, it opened up doorways to other realities, and now multiple versions of Spider-Man are running around in Miles' universe. Now, with the help of a whole team of spider-powered-people, Miles will have to stop the Kingpin, put everyone back in their proper dimensions, and shut down the accelerator before the very fabric of reality is destroyed....and in the process, he'll learn what it truly means to not just be a superhero, but to be Spider-Man.
From the summary above, this may sound like a lot to take in, but amazingly, every character and plot point is juggled fairly well. Each spider-person is given enough screen time and handled in such a way that you're easily able to understand their personalities and backstories in just a few short expositions. This is perfect for an audience who may be unfamiliar with these alternate takes on the wall crawler. (I myself knew most of them, or had at least heard of them, but am now interested to check out their respective books.) And each one of them is drawn in a slightly different style that reflects the universe they came from. The animation is nothing short of incredible, with eye-popping colors, and a style that blurs the lines between traditional, stop-motion, and CGI----a type of art mixture I've never seen utilized before that perfectly evokes the feeling of reading a comic book (right down to panels, thought balloons, and sound effects appearing on screen).
Each of the spider-heroes are their own unique person, though each one contains a reflection of Peter Parker's heroic personality. Spider-Ham, Spider-Man Noir, and Peni Parker (from an animal, 1930's black and white, and anime universe respectively) get some of the funniest lines, though get the least amount of screen time in comparison to Spider-Gwen (from a universe where Peter's girlfriend, Gwen Stacy, got powers instead). Though Gwen sort of becomes a bit of a love interest for Miles, the romance aspect is heavily downplayed in favor of just telling a good origin story for Miles. The plot moves at a fairly fast clip, but this is mostly due to the viewer being dropped into Miles world---a world that's already lived in with its own backstory and adventures that've already happened. If you're a heavy comic reader, then you'll understand all the references. But if you're not, enough context clues are given that even newbies to the "ultimate" comics universe won't be lost. Although, the Kingpin is probably my only nitpick of the film. I'm so used to seeing him as a Daredevil adversary, it's easy to forget he actually started as Spidey's nemesis. And unless my comic knowledge isn't up to snuff, I don't think he typically deals in such scientific experiments (especially not dimension hopping). He's primarily a street crime boss, and to see him screwing around with alternate realities is a bit jarring to me (though his reasoning for doing so IS within his character). And the Peter of Miles' dimension is arguably the most well adjusted, well liked, and competent version of Spider-Man ever seen (with hilarious nods and references to the Sam Rami films).
Ultimately, the main story belongs to Miles and the alternate Peter Parker; both of whom are forced to go on a journey of self improvement, and help each other in doing so. This Peter is the total opposite of the Spidey that Miles knows. In his world, his life has taken a downward spiral, from losing his job, to his Aunt May, to his marriage with Mary Jane, leading to him having virtually given up being Spider-Man. But when he sees how scared and alone and inexperienced that Miles is at using his newfound powers, Peter reluctantly has to become Miles' teacher. And in doing so, he slowly gains the confidence he needs to reclaim his life and move forward. And through his experiences with the other spider-heroes, Miles learns how to come out of his shell, believe in himself, and decide what kind of person he wants to be.
Part origin story, part sci-fi epic, part homage with easter eggs galore, this is a fun and inspiring adventure that serves as the ultimate love letter to anything and everything Spider-Man related. It's one of the most stylistic and unique films I've ever experienced, and anyone who loves Spidey, superheroes, and comic books owes it to themselves to see this.

When it comes to technology I have a certain afinity for my first.
I can remember when I got my first Super Walkman when not in use and
closed it was the size of a cassette case. I realize that I am dating
myself with this example but I have the same feeling of wonder and excitement
when I think about the Samsung 65Q90R QLED I recieved for this campaign.

The 65Q90R is not my first 4K television it is replacing my 2016 Samsung UN60KS8000
which was my first foray into 4K. I must admit when it comes to smartphones
and televisions I can sound like a bit of a Samsung enthusiast. My last four HD
television sets were Samsung 8 Series TV's the changes and improvements which have
been made to Samsungs line of TV's over this period of time is very impressive.
One of the first things I was struck by visually after unboxing the QLED TV was the
tiny bezels which are barely noticeable. The Q90R when compared to my KS8000 is
quite a bit thicker and heavier. This of course in no small part is due to the direct
full array 16X backlighting of this 65 inch QLED display, The display is capable of
getting very bright and showing vivid true to life colors.

The Setup
When the TV was delivered to my home the size of the box it came in was huge allowing for
a good amount of protection for this precious cargo. The box, the TV was in, showed a couple
dings on the outside. The delivery person was incredibly thoughtful offering to stay so I
could make sure that the TV had arrived in good working order. Setup was very easy I was able
to use my Galaxy S10+ smartphone coupled with SmartThings made the setup process effortless, quick
and painless. Attaching the TV's stand is a 2 person job the base of the stand alone weighing
around 20 lbs. you have to attach a plastic panel with 4 screws to the back of the TV. You will
need to place the base of the stand on a flat solid surface and then you and your helper need
to lift the tv and align the plastic backplate you attached to the TV previously with the base
then someone needs to screw the base to the backplate while the other holds the tv steady.
This by far for me was the most difficult part of the TV's setup.

Now before this TV arrived I was happy with the picture my KS8000 provided If asked then I would
honestly say that any newer TV would offer enough of an improvement for me to upgrade. My previous TV
was edge lit and every so often I would notice some light leakage but all in all I was quite impressed
with the picture my SUHD was providing me. Enter QLED after having this set for just over a week
is that the QLED offers a significant improvement in picture quality compared to my 8 Series SUHD in
every way from how bright the picture is to how vivid the colors are the display seems to offer a
more realistic picture like you are looking out a window not watching TV.

Quantum Processor 4K
The majority of content that my wife and I view is 1080p and I must say that the TV's processor does a
fantastic job of upscaling regular HD content the picture looks clear and natural not grainy or over

Just to correct one aspect of an excellent review- as I am very interested in the ability of a 4K tv to “upscale” broadcast material...you referenced HD as in HD broadcast material as 1080p. The vast majority of broadcast for 99% of outlet country is actually 1080i (inferior to 1080p by quite some margin). So if you are extremely happy with upconversion of 1080i, that is quite an accomplishment by Samsung !

Just an update. Someone in another review asked the other appliance brand- We have LG black stainless. Matches up well. I think it would work with SAMSUNG or LG as black stainless.

This is my first 4k player so I don't have anything to compare this to. But I watched a couple movies and can clearly see alot more detail from my older Sony Blu Ray player. The Dolby vision update installed smoothly with no issues and it has quite a few apps. Overall very satisfied for an entry level player.

The only reason I went with this one and not the X800 by Sony is due to the Dolby Vision update in a few months. The build quality is not as good as the X800 but I would still recommend this one for anyone looking for a budget 4K player. If you want the top tier 4K player get an Oppo.

Hi,
For some reason this TV picture does not look as good as my 5 year old Samsung. It's very good but for some reason looks muddy. I can't get The Geek Squad to respond. So you pay 4K for a tv that you really can get in LG or Samsung for 2K less and I can't see a difference is picture quality really. So if you are willing to way overpay for a tv then you will love this.

The answer is “Yes, a 4K tv looks worse with HD 1080i broadcast (regular tv) than your @old” HD 1080p tv did.
Do not outright blame tv manufacturers (though they SHOULD print a disclaimer)...blame CBS, NBC, FOX, etc. They need to toss their antiquated (but still expensive) broadcast cameras.
Your phone, new computers, all the tv’s sold are 4K, yet we are being fed antiquated junk.
Get with it NBC, CBS, FOX, ABC, etc. This is 2019 !

I walked into a Best Buy and there was a 1080p blu ray version of Iron Man 2 on a A90J and a Samsung QN90A. There was much pixelation and fuzziness on the A90J and the QN90A looked so crisp. Is Sony not that good at upscaling lower resolution content?
As you might have read or heard, SONY is considered by most people in the industry as well as AV hobbyists as having THEE BEST ”upscaling” in the business. What you saw does NOT match up with professional comparisons, at all.
Obviously, you need to account for S T O R E issues (bad hdmi cable, etc.)
There is a multitude of explanations for what you apparently experienced. But THAT is just inconsistent with the norm.

This is a “panel lottery”- varies from panel to panel, honestly.
Most have shown to be pretty clean. And it tends to dissipate some over time.

I think this is a GREAT question. I have never tried. I hate to guess (I am a coffee drinker and DO appreciate fresh ground coffee beans).
I would certainly guess “yes” but would be concerned about just exactly HOW fine it would get...but this is one very, very capable blender. It really is. I can imagine some “experimentation” of amount of time and speed would come into play.

Yes, absolutely. I will answer this a bit differently from some others. I, like you, still love my Panasonic plasma (GT 50). But I actually get a slight boost from my current OPPO 203 (just purchased the Panasonic 820 for another Panny plasma). Your question was the same as mine before my purchase. I wanted to “sort of” test out the new 4K players, and still continue another year with our gorgeous plasma...there is not too much difference as of course the 1080p is, well, still 1080p, BUT...when I hit “info button” there is DOUBLE TO TRIPLE the bit rate coming off that 4K disc from the 4K player, and it serves up about 60-80 mkbps (sp?), as compared to 2K Blu-ray of about 20-25. It DOES maximize your plasma out !
So the long & short is YES. My Panasonic tv (GT50) accepts a 4K HDMI cable that OPPO supplied. For the Penny 820, I think you will need to purchase a new HDMI cable to send the beefed-up signal to the TV. I recommend only the “Premium Certified” HDMI. A GREAT source is ”MONOCABLE.” They are an on-line business that have impeccable quality at a fraction of cost- great combo !
