I purchased this mouse because I previously owned the 3500 and I loved it. That mouse stopped working after several years because I accidentally broke the USB receiver.
Anyway, I decided to give the 4000 a try and this mouse is just as good, if not better. It is as comfortable as the 3500 mouse and has better battery life. The 4000 mouse will turn off automatically when not in use, which is great because the 3500 mouse will drain the battery so quickly.
Keep in mind that this mouse also has a USB receiver and it is not bluetooth, so make sure what you're getting before you purchase.
