Having seen all of these films multiple times, there was no doubt in my mind that eventually, they would all be boxed together. So I waited. Decades. Saw them all in the theaters, saw some of them on Beta, VHS, Laserdisc, DVD, Blu-ray, and now 4K. Now my wait was over. That said, individual film reviews notwithstanding, that it was well worth the wait. Nice package and they all look great. My only complaint is that the discs can be a bit difficult to remove from the sleeves without getting fingerprints on them. So keep a microfiber cloth handy. Other than that, may the set be with you. Always.

Well, we've followed John Rambo from his encounter with Sheriff Will Teasel, back to Vietnam, through Afganistan, then Burma, and now, finally, back home in Arizona.
Left to his own, he manages to stay out of trouble for the 10 year period between the fourth film and this new one. When things go bad, he is forced to do what he does best. The carnage begins and we see that Rambo still knows how to deal with people that intrude on his world. And to think his infamy all started because, as he told Coronel Troutman back in First Blood, "All I wanted was something to eat."

With the sequel rolling into theaters, I felt that I should revisit the original film. Especially when I read that all four of the original cast members were involved. That said, with a $5 coupon in hand, I was perusing the bargain bin at Best Buy and came across this Steelbook version. Yay.
I have to say that this film is quite entertaining in that it has a great sense of humor mixed in with some pretty gruesome kills. Plus there's the whole road trip thing too. Talk about fun, eh? And, truth be told, I'll pretty much see anything starring Woody Harrelson or the delightful Emma Stone.
Now sit down, hit PLAY and don't forget the Twinkies!

It all started here, kids. Forget your Jasons, your Freddies, and whatever it was that you did last summer. Sure, they all have their merits but when it comes right down to it, Michael Meyers was there first. He set the high bar and he has yet to be bested.
