Jason Statham finally coming into his own as a lead actor in what would be a series of 3 films about a man who transports "packages" and never asks questions. This of course, leads to problems.
Not sure why the 3rd film in the series didn't make it into this set so if you're any sort of completist, you'll have to pick it up on it's own.
Oh, and yes, it's loaded with the kind of action you'd expect from Statham so no, you won't be disappointed.

As long as you're not expecting anything even remotely like 2001 in regards to Stanley Kubrick's style of directing, you'll probably enjoy this follow-up film.
Taking place after the original film, we find Roy Scheider's character, Dr. Heywood Floyd, being visited by a ghostlike Dave Bowman from the original film. Dr. Floyd is on a mission to Saturn to find out what happened to Dave. Meanwhile back on Earth, the world is on the bring of nuclear war. Dave then informs Dr. Floyd that "something wonderful" is about to happen.
It's a good film though not nearly as cerebral as 2001 or likely to be subject to as much discussion afterwards as to what it means. Oh, and yes, the HAL 9000 is in it as well. Definately worth a look.

Not Fast, Just Furious

Great war film that shows a tight team as they rampage across Germany during WW2 in a tank called Fury. Pitt is the man in charge and every other man in the tank is there making the most of the "Best job I ever had." Jon Bernthal is quite good playing a man you're never sure if you're supposed to like or hate. At the beginning of the film, Pitt and his crew take a new man into their crew so part of the story is a "coming of age" story. The battle scenes are really tense and ending is one of wild desperation.

That's Why He's The King

Very entertaining in it's own rite, this movie is one in a series of films coming out that deal with Kaiju. Take note, the movie has nothing to do with any of the other movies that came before it referring to King Kong. This Kong is a young (and still growing) apelike creature that will eventually duke it out with Godzilla who, by the way, is significantly older and larger than Kong. But again, Kong is still growing. This is noted in the film and is an important fact. If they were to go head to head at this point, Godzilla would knock the monkey-snot out of Kong. After all, short of his strength, Kong has no other powers, unlike Godzilla who can breathe radioactive fire. And if you believe the older films fly, jump, and dance. And don't even get me started on how Godzilla deals with Bambi. Yeah, look that one up on YouTube.
This particular story, however, deals with a group of soldiers who are there to escort a scientific survey team that want to prove that the rumors are true. That there is a very large lifeform (or two) living on an island that, until this mission, has been uncharted. Turns out, the island is indeed there, and so are the big beasties. Mayhem ensues. Enjoy.

Good, pre-Harry Potter romp through the wizarding world in the first of what is rumored to be a 5-film series. It follows the adventures of Newt Scamander as he arrives in New York on his way to Arizona to release a creature in his posession. While in New York, a number of his magical beasts escape so he has to round them up. Whilst doing this, he encounters the American faction of the wizarding world as they are trying to uncover the mystery behind a series of crimes that could reveal their existence to the No-majs ( Muggles as they call us "non magical folk" in Europe.) The crimes are being caused by what will be a recurring character across the 5 films. Someone who is not nearly as friendly as Scamander. So jump in now and you won't fall behind. It's a lot of fun. And yes, there are references to characters that are still around in Harry's time.

Not even going to go into what is right and what is wrong with this film as it been hotly debated many times already. Does it have some issues? Sure, but short of Empire, pick a SW entry that doesn't.
Anywho, I did enjoy it, but I have to say, it was clearly meant to be one of two films (based on the ending). Problem is, with the tepid response at the box office and from critics, Disney may just leave us hanging on this one.
Either way, as a SW completest, you may as well pick it up. Otherwise you won't get to see Han and Chewie meet for the first time. Oh, and yes, Donald Glover does a great Lando Calrissian.
Anywho, I did enjoy it, but I have to say, it was clearly meant to be one of two films (based on the ending). Problem is, with the tepid response at the box office and from critics, Disney may just leave us hanging on this one.
