This is a classic Apple cable that allows you to connect to most USB devices. However if you want to connect your iphone to a usb flash drive or full drive it won't work. That is disappointing. You can connect your iphone so some brands of cameras with USB ports and and then move files.

Got this as a freebie when I purchased the new MacBook Air laptop. I decided that I wouldn't use it as rarely are there virus issues on Apple products that need this much attention. I haven't heard anything bad about it, so go for it.

I bought this cable so I could still use my external hard drives and also CDDVD read write drive. Sadly Apple has removed basic USB and HDMI ports ( you would need another cable for the HDMI ) Go for it, or miss out.

The newer version of the MacbookAir is solid and dependable. However, there are some limitations as Apple has removed any option for an HDMI or USB port....so typical of Apple. The screen nearly reaches the edges, and it is a great Retina display. Plenty fast, and plenty dependable. Just be sure to drop more cash for add on USB and/or HDMI ports to name a few.
