Upgrade from M570 Trackball

tl;dr - consider buying if, 1) you're familiar w/using a trackball, 2) you want a trackball that controls two computers, 3) you want an 20º angle (or 30º with the base that comes Best Buy version), and/or 4) precision mode is desired. If not, the M570 is a better value.
I've used trackballs since corded Trackman Wheel (early 2000s), then upgraded to wireless M570 five years ago. Decided to try the Ergo because I had some Best Buy points and $10 off Best Buy birthday credit.
I like that the Ergo can control two computers. I'm neutral on the different angles, and haven't really used the precision control

I don't use it for gaming but liked it for the price ($40 off on sale), switches (green - clicky but I work at home), volume/mute button (great when answering phone calls) with the backlighting as a perk (I use solid white - boring but I like it).
Know that the keyboard cable is VERY thick and not easily inserted in cable management slots (channels) - I skipped this. You'll need an extra USB port if you want to use the pass-through port (not USB-3)

If you feel the need for speed, this keyboard is for you as the silver switches live up to their name (speed) as they are currently the fastest. Great for gaming but for takes a bit of getting used to for typing. I type faster but also make more errors as it's a bit unforgiving. Still happy with the purchase and am slowly getting better

Trackballs are interchangeable

The blood red one from my Trackman Wheel fits perfectly in the Ergo. Also, Papermate Stick pens are the right size to pop out the ball if you want to clean the sensors

Yes - I added a 128GB card but please note that the additional storage will be used to files (pics, movies, books, etc) and not for apps. Consider paying the extra amount for the 64GB version - you'll get more internal storage and additional RAM for better responsiveness and more open apps

Is the 4.9" shown as the width, the total tablet or the lite-up screen portion? I'm wanting to replace my older 8" samsung tablet, but the newer ones seem narrower. I don't want to go to a 10", but I don't want to go any smaller either. Thanks

Gail, I had a similar concern as I was replacing a Samsung Tab 2 (8" - 2015 version) - it still works though the battery life is limited and the Android version hasn't been updated since 7 (current version is 11). The Tab A7 Lite is narrower and taller (pic attached) - it's also a bit heavier and while the screen (TFT, 800 x 1340 - 5:3 has a lower quality than the Tab 2 (Super AMOLED, 1536 x 2048 - 4:3), I don't notice the difference. Note that Netflix will play vids in lower resolution.
If you're going to purchase a Tab 7 Lite, I highly recommend paying the extra amount for the 64GB version as it has additional RAM (3GB in the 64 vs 2GB in the 32) and it will help the tablet be more responsive and allow more apps to be open
