Got it for the 1 gig Ethernet connection and it has not disappointed. I no longer wonder if it is my internet provider, wifi connection or the app if I get buffering. It’s the app. Which rarely happens. Clean picture and settings that help you maximize it to your liking. Functionality on some apps struggle i.e. rewinding. But overall very happy with speed of GUI.
Two negatives. The first is you can not turn off the “On” light. Very distracting when watching in a dark room and should be an option on a device at this price level. The second is that you do not have the ability to power on/off your receiver with the power button. This is considered a high end device and should be able to perform this function as well. There is a work around for this using the mute button, but really shouldn’t have to reassign buttons for this option.

The Dark Knight, literally

The Dark Knight gets a fresh reboot and a great disc. This is a dark movie, meaning it takes place under very little light. The 4K holds up strong and everything has good detail and no artifacts. If your tv does not hold up well in dark movies, it will get slaughtered by this. Trying to watch this in the middle of a bright sunny day with no light control in your room is not recommended. Sound is great too, puts you into every scene. Steelbook is nice, nothing to right home about.

Lawrence of Arabia is my favorite film of all time. An epic masterpiece. My rating has nothing to do with the film or the disc quality. The 4K presentation is 5 stars and what I appreciate about 4K, taking my favorite movies from yesteryear and making them look new. Better than new. This rating is all about how poorly the quality control and Best Buy’s shipping of Steelbooks is. I went through 4 Steelbooks and all had damage, either from shipping or poor quality control from factory. Dents, scratches, chips, you name it, these Steelbooks had it.

Glad Snyder got a chance to complete this properly. Shows what greed and ineptitude at the highest levels can do to an artist. The IMAX side bars take a bit to get used to but once you are past that, you can appreciate the great detail in the picture. Long run time didn’t bother me, you can create your own intermission once the backstories on the characters end and we get into the second half of the film. Sound is fantastic as well.

Steelbook arrived in great condition. They all should come with a protective sleeve. Great detail in the 4K disc. The sand, the sweat the grime all present. Worthy upgrade for a great movie.
