Great product but not perfect

I've been using Quicken for years now and up until recently it has worked with all my financial institutions very well. Currently, there seems to be an issue with data being passed along by Fidelity and received by Quicken. While I believe I've found a workaround (not a 1 time thing), it is an annoyance and I won't know how my workaround will be impacted by any future fix by either company. I still like Quicken and plan on sticking with it with hopes they resolve the issue. Just thought people should know that as hard as they may try, Quicken can't quickly adapt to changes financial institutions make to the data they push out to them. My current rating reflects the current difficulty I'm having with Quicken. Previously, I've given it a higher rating. And I would still recommend it to someone who I think would be able to play with it and find workarounds like I did.

Short version: Very good laptop for someone who has limited number of applications to install.
With the pending failure of my old laptop, I needed a new one to help bridge the gap until I could decide what it is I really wanted. This new laptop really does have just about everything you need except for sufficient hard drive space. The 256 GB SSD (hard drive) seems like a lot but todays software eats that up really fast.
I have more programs to install but the hard drive is already 3/4's full. So, I have only installed what I consider to be my most used applications.
With the programs I use regularly (i.e., Word, Excel, Quicken, Tax programs and Norton 360) and games made available from within Facebook, I have yet to have an issue.

Since purchasing this machine, I have slowly been building up my inventory of 4K movies as they come on sale. That being said, I am very happy with the quality of picture and sound that this player provides.
As with most technology today, it was easy to connect and simple to use. Don't forget, if you are going to purchase a new 4K player, you need a new 4K HDMI cable that will support it.

Fun to have around

I don't use the Amazon Echo as much as others might but it is fun to have around and it is not difficult to set up. I did purchase a "smart plug" at the same time and this allows me to use Alexa to turn on/off the designated light from anywhere using my smartphone.
I recently noticed the top of the Echo blinking a yellow light which seem to indicate I had a message. After a little research, I learned how to turn off that feature.
I may not utilize all the features the Echo offers but I do have it set up to do all the basic things I would like it to do. Whether it is telling you about the weather, getting the joke of the day, taking a daily quiz, finding out what's on TV, etc, I think you will find it fun to have around.
I mark it down slightly on "ease of use" only because there may be a little learning curve on understanding all the features and figuring out if you want them active or not. I think there could be better instructions on what each of these features are and what they may be used for.

Great replacement remote

Yes... there are a lot of things (blood and guts) that may not be appropriate for youngsters but this is also very inspirational for those who may struggle to be steadfast in maintaining their own values. How do you get the filter out to clean it?
To remove the filter to clean it you must remove the bucket first. Once the bucket is out then the filter can be pulled down and out of the unit. It is a simple task to perform.

My current Quicken Premier does not expire until April 2020. If I purchase the 1-Year Subscription now, can I wait until April or May to activate it and thereby have a new expiration of April or May 2021??
While I am not 100% certain, I believe your assumption is correct. By making the purchase, I believe you are entitled to an additional 1 year subscription (i.e., the activation or key code is new). I've seen nothing to suggest or dictate when you have to use the code to activate the subscription. So holding onto that activation/key code should not be a problem. In my case, every year I purchased my new subscription when I see a good sale and usually several weeks ahead of when my old subscription is set to expire. And a few days before it was set to expire then I would add the new activation/key code. This may not provide the absolute certainty that you are looking for but I do believe the activation/key code will still be good when you want to use it in April or May 2021.

Can this be used as a renewal for an existing Quicken Premier subscription?
Yes... I refuse to pay full subscription price thru Quicken so I always wait until it goes on sale. I've been doing this for the past 2 years (including this year) and have had no problems. When you enter the new activation code it automatically adds the 365 days onto your existing subscription.
