So after being lucky enough to grab a PS5 last year (from GameStop of all places, in a bundle), I ran into a drought of games to play on the system. I saw Fortnite was updated graphically for the PS5 so I thought I'd try it out. I was surprised at how fun the game was, especially the single player "Save the World" mode. I know I'm late to this 2017 game, but having started just after Christmas 2020, I'm having fun with the game and friends online. This DLC has been on sale recently, and I was able to buy it in online from Best Buy for the same price. Great if your into DC characters like Joker and Poison Ivy, as well as the Midas character (non-reactive like his other counterpart that turns in game weapons to a gold skin). But it's also nice as a collector to have a physical case for this game in my collection, even if it doesn't include an actual disk.

The game is great even without the extras, but if you are lucky enough to find this edition it's well worth the pickup.

Taxi Madness is a casual arcade racing game where you select one of a wide range of unlockable cabs, each of whom has different attributes: the strong muscle car, the superfast exotic supercar, the corner-drifting Japanese tuner, an American classic from the ~60s and more: Taxi Mayhem has them all. Your goal is to try and earn big cab fares, by picking up any customers and dropping them off at their destination spots as fast as possible before you run out of time! However, beware: most customers are a little crazy. Explore a vast city with many New York inspired locations, find shortcuts, drift through corners like a pro, take impossible jumps, aggressively bash your way through traffic hour and earn good money while doing so!

Decent Crazy Taxi successor

This game seemed to come out of nowhere when I first heard about it from a YouTuber, RGT85. Apparently, it is a spiritual successor to the Sega classic, "Crazy Taxi". It's also not developed or published by Sega, with the exception of in Japan where Sega is indeed publishing it.
The game is available on both Switch and PS4 (PS5), and at the time of writing looks about the same on each console. I grabbed the PS4 version as the Switch version had sold out. It is currently the same price in physical or digital format, so I opted for a copy to add to my library. That said the game seems to load textures further out faster on PS4, though on Switch it just swaps lower for higher resolution textures as you drive closer to objects like building windows. This is a feature most games use, especially those on Switch to conserve RAM memory.
Visually like I said it's currently running at a somewhat low resolution, I would assume between 720p and 1080p, where on PS4 Pro or PS5 you would assume it could handle at least 1080p or better.
Gameplay wise, it plays very similar "Crazy Taxi", with the addition of being able to have your car jump. This extra jump option, while unrealistic in this already unrealistic arcade style point to point racer, is actually pretty convenient. The controls are great and if you were a fan of "Crazy Taxi" you should feel right at home in this game.
Sound. The game has a fairly limited rock track that can get old quickly. There is no Green Day here. Also while the new character voices offer a lot of dialog during your trips, many offer the same dialog all too frequently with a lot of repetition.
At a $30 title, I'm willing to overlook some of the game's flaws like its lower resolution visuals and repetitive customer chatter. The core gameplay is where this game shines for that I can easily recommend the game to anyone wanting to give it a try.

Overpromised but okay game

So much can and has already been said about Cyberpunk. Obviously, the game was promised to be this huge, beautiful, open-world game where player choice mattered. What we got was another story. On PC, providing you have a powerful PC, the visuals can be amazing. On Xbox One and PS4, it's a different thing, broken, unplayable at parts. On Series X and PS5, it still looks terrible, but runs smoother, despite having terrible flaws and bugs. Also despite being "open-world", the game is insanely linear with extremely limited player choice.
Patches have been promised through the remainder of the year, with a Series X and PS5 patch due out at the end of the year.
I've played maybe 15 hours into the game and have decided to just shelf the game until later this year. With game-breaking and save bugs, I'd rather just wait on this game we've already been waiting nearly a decade for already. Hopefully, it can pull a "No Man's Sky" style return to form, but I'm not holding out much hope of that.

Great extra storage solution

USB external hard drives aren't a flashy piece of tech, but their benefits are huge. Personally, I am using this drive on an Xbox Series X for storage of my Xbox One library. I had recently outgrown a 4TB drive and the 1TB internal storage on my One X was maxed out, so 8TB on sale was the next logical jump. Being able to hold your library and GamePass games locally is great. Load times are good, but obviously not as great as SSD.
As a spinning HDD, there will be some drive noise. Mine was sitting on an entertainment cabinet shelf and just having the drive on was noticeable. I then found that if I bore out a hole behind the cabinet and lay the drive on its side on top of some styrofoam tape, the drive noise is all but gone. Obviously, everyone's situation varies, but for me, this was a fairly easy fix.
I also have two of these drives that I've shucked and am using in a RAID configuration in a personal server at home. In that scenario, they are pretty quiet, as they are in a cool basement closet, and have been in use for about a year and a half now.
I can easily recommend these drives to anyone looking for additional space.

That's pretty much it. 2 of the buttons stick, not because of a sticky substance, but because they aren't centered properly in the shell. You can feel them rub up against it, and they make audible noises when they're pushed from the unsticking. It is very annoying. Don't bother with their "refurbished" garbage.

Clean it

With any gaming controller if you take a clean toothbrush, slightly dampened with water and scrub around the buttons you should be able to fix this. Be sure to not use much water and then dry it when done. There is a rubber membrane under each button with a slight lip around the edge to prevent small amounts of water, dirt or soda from touching the circuitry. Scrubbing all sides of the button, maybe twice after rinsing the toothbrush should fix the problem. I've used this method to fix otherwise filthy game controllers without needing to resort to opening them to clean them.

Seems like a fine product, but I returned this unopened. I purchased this thinking it would do motion tracking for games like Just Dance, however it appears this is only for capturing video, not mocap.

Smart reason I returned mine. This should have been branded that is for "YouTube or Twitch Streaming ONLY". So many reviewers got this camera yet of dozens of reviews only one I saw mentioned this. VR and other functions of the other games won't support this camera. This seems like a huge oversight, so hopefully this changes in a firmware update. But for now if you don't stream, skip this peripheral.

Can this be used for audio commands? For instance, the Xbox Kinect allowed you to say "Xbox Pause" while watching a movie...
No it can't. It's sole purpose is to stream on YouTube and Twitch, period.

What camera do I need to get to play Just Dance 2020/21 with the PS5? Looks like this one doesn't serve that purpose. Thanks.
Either of the past PS4 cameras will work great. I'm currently using the cylinder shapped V2 camera, works great for Just Dance and PSVR.

Will I be able to connect this to a Nintendo switch lite?
You would need a third party bluetooth adapter to connect in the USB charge port on the bottom of the Switch Lite. I'm not fully certain these work on the Lite over the standard Switch. So no it won't work natively.
My recommendation is the Switch Pro controller. Though if you're on a budget the PowerA wireless controller is cheaper dealing, missing some features like rumble, a built in 48 hr battery, and amiibo support, but is an otherwise solid $40 remote that occasionally goes on sale.

I recently bought this controller for my Xbox one and went to set it up when I got home with my rechargeable batteries, but they don’t seem to work. Did they make it to where older rechargeable batteries don’t work with the new controllers?
The form factor of the back is slightly different so you'll need a new charger as the back cover is different. That said older rechargeable packs can be charged separately and then installed in the controller.
Another option is to buy a new Xbox Series rechargeable battery pack (using the cover the controller came with) an then charge it via USB-C. This time around there are two sets of battery pins inside. I'm guessing that it won't charge older packs or rechargeable AA batteries via USB-C so that people wouldn't damage their controller by accidentally charging standard AA batteries, hence the second set of charging pins.

Can this controller charge two rechargeable AA batteries if I connect a USB-C cable?
So I tested this myself, and No it does not work. The Xbox Series controller has terminals for standard or rechargeable AA batteries to power the controller. But this time there are some smaller pins for a rechargeable battery pack and these will charge a battery from the USB-C port. But as they are between where AA batteries (rechargeable or not) sit they won't charge rechargeable AA batteries. My guess is this decision was made so that someone didn't inadvertently try to "recharge" non-rechargeable AA batteries as that would be a problem.

You can quiet them and turn on subtitles. I get it, some of the Scottish accents are pretty thick and hard to understand. No offense to anyone, I'm sure they think the same of some of us Americans.
